  • You are so cutee! :D

  • Yes...as someone else wrote...the girl singer....lovely....is it the School of Rock?

  • I haven't seen this one before Tam....loved it of course. Can I ask you what the music is, the song that comes later and is the last one. It is really lovely! Love Lynda x

  • That sounds like School of Rock. :)

  • your so cute! lol lovely work of art also!

  • Love your work, also that song while your speaking (girl singing) very very nice. . . Who is it ( if you dnt mind )

    Thanks

    Oscar

  • Just what I needed. :) Thank you SO MUCH!

  • u are refreshing, and your art is what i like to do too.....i was never the "clean" artist.

  • i am so thankful that my friend sent me this amazing video of yours!! i've been struggling alot lately with getting "inspired" and letting my mind, my brain, and my head get the best of me lol. i think most (if not all) people who are into art are their own worst critics; i've been too wrapped up SEARCHING for inspiration that i lost track of the actual creative process!! your art is wonderful!! thank you for this amazing video :)))

  • You are wonderful ! Thank you for being you!

    And making videos.

  • @marfabear thank you for watching and commenting, i appreciate it! :)

  • Hi willowing,

I can really slap the paint on, but now my pages of my moleskine stick together and when I pull them apart the paint pulls off with it. I must buy myself some inks and more watercolours. Oh well, life is for learning, right?

  • @papermason oh dear, yep that can happen with the acrylics sadly! there is a type of paper you can use in between the pages so they won't stick together, it's like transparent paper. :)

  • @willowing Thanks for the information about the paper, I'll ask at our local art store.

  • "Make sure to art from the heart" - great saying and video!

  • @StephanieMorehead thank you!! :) x

  • :O magic bowl!

  • thanks so much for this, i will try to conquer my fear of not being "good enough" !!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you, for posting this.

You're a kooky, strange, completely charming creature. Thank you a million times for introducing yourself to the world :-)

  • Totally agree with you!! = 0 )

  • Like the people who only work in order mode, to only work messy because it's "freedom" is narrow minded.. And when i look at how you make art (and your works are impressive) you work in order.. All your cuts and scraps are straight to the edges of the paper, the lines are talking with the element around them.. So, be free for your art even if it's in order.

  • @ilangai1 hiya! hearing you'd like an approach of freedom to all kinds of art, be it messy, in order or anywhere in between! i get that. :-) for me, though there is structure to my work, i found that being messy, ie; just splashing paint all over the place and doing lots of layers works as freeing as my work before that was much more neat and restricted my abiltity to play

  • Hi, Just to clear things up, i have no mean of preaching what you do.. I really like your style and approach.. i just got the feeling from what you said that anything else is not real art.. But i understand now it wasn't what you intend it to be.. Sorry for my English and Freedom of Art for everyone :)

  • @ilangai1 ooh, thanks for clarifying! and nooo, that's not what i meant at all! :-) there is some amazing very NON messy art out there! ha ha! :)

  • :)

BTW, first thing i did after watching your video was messing up two of my molskine pages

    :)

  • @ilangai1 ha ha! awesome! :D

  • haha...i too am quite the critic....a perfectionist if you will.....I love when I can tap into the "I don't care" mode....it is indeed a process!

  • :-) yes indeed! it's nice to get away from the inner critic sometimes! x

  • what type of glue do you use when ur gluing down the newspaper and stars and all that. comment back please and thank you :D ur art is awesome. :))

  • i use something called; golden soft gel medium (matte). oxox

  • my mom always bugs me about my messy room but it helps me with my art somehow and i've tried explaining but yeah right lol.

  • ha ha!! yes, mums can be like that sometimes! mine also always wanted me to tidy tidy tidy! xoox

  • Your book is great. I always get in trouble because my room apparently is "trashed" according to my parents. I can focus on art better when it is messy. When I start a new project I have to clean up...they just do no get it...I also do the free flow painting and add random objects(usually recycling).

  • thank you! ah yes, parents do not always appreciate the 'energy' of mess! ha ha! mine were the same. your art sounds great! :) x

  • HOLY COW!!! i love ur journal!!!

    its.. like.. wow!

    thkls for sharing

can you please tell me what are the names of the songs you used? :)

  • thank you! i can't remember the names of the songs, but the band is sigur ros. :)

  • oh also; gregory and the hawk :)

  • thank you ^^

  • Hahaa , this was actually the first video i ever saw of you , and now i watch it over and over . Yet i never get tired of it (: Thanks for being such an inspiration . And by the way this is Lis, i changed my account .

  • hi lis!! thanks for watching this one over and over! :) i like this one too! ha ha! x

  • thank you, you forever inspire me :D :D :D

  • thank YOU for watching and popping round! x

  • I'm good at messy!!!!!!

  • well that's just awesome! :D x

  • great idea about art from the heart, I am going to keep my singing bowl, (which normally sits neglected ) and put it on my art table as a reminder to do a meditation first. THANKS, and virtual love and sparkles.

  • thanks for watching! great idea to put it on your art table as a reminder! :) x

  • how do you make your super awesome gloves, I love them in every episode :-)

  • oooh no, i buy those! you can buy them here in quite a few shops! look online for; fingerless gloves. :) x

  • You're simply awesome and I adore your creativeness.. :) x

  • why thank YOU! xoxo

  • your art is amazing and has really inspired me to do my own messy art journal. Just I need to buy some paint and maybe some more supplies, paintbrushes too.

  • glad you find this inspiring!! :) good luck with your own journal! xx

  • First of all, Gregory and the Hawk is one of the most amazing! : )

Secondly, School of Rock is one of the greatest films ever created! It's brilliant and it will never be just a funny little foot note on my epic ass! :)

And thirdly, but definitely not least, I am so thankful I oh-so-randomly came across your videos looking for new and interesting, as well as liberating, techniques of art. You have truly helped me, and apparently lots of others. I can tell you don't take it for granted though.

  • yay!! :D thanks for watching and your lovely message! :D x

  • i made my first art journal pqqe , & i just wanted you to know that you were my inspiration ! :) & i wanted to know how old were u when you made your first journal ?

  • ooh, fabulous! love to see it!! i prob did my first art journal/ sketch book in art academy, would've been 18 or so. :)

  • your really beautiful!

    and i love this video:)

  • thank you so much! x

  • this definatley has to be my favorite video of yours! and did you make those phrases up? i mean the ones on the white piece of paper.they are beautiful because they have a certain awkwerdness, yet send a big message! i love your style. what can i do to be creative like you?!

  • thank you very much! :) i had to watch the video again to see what you meant by the phrases! no, i think that was a poem by either ts eliot or oscar wilde, can't remember! :)

to be creative like me; be creative! just open up a page, stop letting your mind interfere and make a mess! ;) good luck!! x

  • YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION! i <3 ur work!

  • so simply inspiring, with the pressure of producing art to a deadline you do forget to just let go and enjoy it, so thankyou for reminding me that it doesn't always have to be so precise and structured.

  • you make me want to pick up my paint brushes and complete my unfinished art! <3

    1.2.3. love.

  • Love the video! Love the Message! Love the songs! Keep up the good work Hun! Can't wait to see more! Got me to get out my journal that has been collecting dust and work over top of all my feelings.. hard to paint over,,lol but I'm learning!

  • i love the background song.... what is the title please? thanks!

  • depends on which part, you're probably wanting 'sigur ross'. :) (the music while i'm talking is by gregory and the hawk).

  • The response that I posted is the closest thing to messy I get lol, seriously the paint got all over the place

  • hee hee, excellent! thanks for the comment and video response! :) xoo

  • No problem^__^ it was fun

  • I used to be precise and self critical, sometimes now I fear I'm the opposite, and lack rhyme or reason. Great video. Be messy!

  • :) it's so important to let go eh! xoxo

  • this is wonderful Tam ! 'art from the heart' :+) I like that saying too :+)

  • love ya darling! xoox

I am cooler than a Power ranger

    ♥--Hugs and Twinkies--♥ Brittani aka Rhonda Anthony Tanner/R.A.T. Coaching aka B-RAT :)

  • i love your ideas! haha. i can't do clean. i say the messier the better, in almost all aspects of life, hahahaha. ;)

  • i love your username owlsandelephants! :-) and yep: the messier the better! hee. thanks for watching! :D

  • Hi! I just dicovered you & absolutely adore you. There is a similar feeling with your art & my stuff & i also use a Tibetan singing bowl. In fact I think we even sort of look alike! How fun & funny!

  • well hello and thank you very much for watching! :-) I very much appreciate your feedback! I'm also curious about your art now, can I see it somewhere? :) Tam xo

  • ooooooh msdragonfly1 of COURSE you're cool, LOL. i didn't mean it in a way that those who haven't watched the film 'arent cool'. so sorry!! it was more a reflection on how fun i think the film is!!!! thanks re: move, we're here now and the house is full with BOXES AND MESS! hee hee.

  • no worries, i took no offense really. :D glad you are finally home! it's so fun to create a new home, it's the moving that sucks! :D

  • Oh my goodness, I would so buy a stuffed animal from you! Being my favorite artist in the whole world, I don't understand how anyone wouldn't. Were you actually being serious??? *Crosses fingers, and hopes that she didn't just embarress herself*

I loved this vid. It's definitely inspired me to go cover a couple pages in a mess of art, and not let myself critique. So thank you!

    xoxoxo,

    RayJay

  • Very nice video and art. I enjoyed it!

  • thank you faerycomedraw! :D

  • your art is beautiful, but it is the process- the sacred inspiration- you share that is truly miraculous.

thanks for mentioning Earthlings in your dolphin video. i watched it last night & now feel inspired to give veganism another go. ready to save the animals & find my inner strength at the same time:)

  • thank you pandanu. yes, the process is so important and wonderful. i am thankful for you seeing that, too. ooooooh yay re: veganism, wasn't the film just the most traumatising thing you've ever seen? :/ thank you for taking the time to watch it and to respond like you did/ have. xooxo big hugs.

  • I've been more messy with my art lately and it's really fun! Sometimes I have a hard time with self-imposed rules interfering with my art.

Thanks for sharing your process, and you are really pretty by the way:)

  • i so know what you mean by the imposed rules, it's hard to stop our mind from judging and critising! i found that the messier i am, the less my mind can say something about it, hee hee. thanks for watching Lindsey! :D

  • oh thanks for messy i am a very messy artist specially when i get the oil paint out wow it goes every wher but the canvas ha ha i will win the messiest art area ever i have so many wonderful supplies and i dont put it on shelves ill have to share the studio when i actually have one i paint where ever i feel i love your vids and you are beautiful

  • thanks gina!! hee hee. you are already messy eh, wonderful!! arting from the heart you are. :))))) my house is always a complete mess after having done art (and before it too, ehehe) thanks for watching. how is your son? xoxo :)

  • Great video, cool collage. My dogs were fascinated with the sound of your tibetan sound bowl!

  • eheh, i'm sure they were, it's such an incredible sound. did you see how the picture blurred? i didn't edit that, it JUST happened! andy says that the vibrations affected the lens! :)) thanks for watching holly! :)

  • Bravo! Loved the art. Good luck settling in.

  • thanks artmemoirs! we're moving TODAY!! :))))

  • All the best in your new home! Great video! I love the mess while I´m in the middle of creation, but I heate it when I´m done!! hahaha!

  • monica, eheh, yessss, i know what you mean! you should the MESS outside of my journal after I'm done, paint/ paper everwhere, usually also knock over the paint water a few times, so my house is one big paint stain! hee hee. thanks for watching! oox

  • I will give messy a try. It's not going to be easy for me but I think that it will be a very good exercise. Also, I have found that sometimes when I'm creating a journal page I have a concept or idea of what I want the page to look like but somewhere along the way it evolves into something entirly different.I'm always surprised when that happens. Thank you for another great video willowing.

  • seems like you're already quite intuitive if you sometimes your art 'just goes where it wants to go', it doesn't have to be through the method of being messy! :D i like it too when it just goes somewhere and you're like; HEY, what just happened? hee. thanks for watching and sharing some of your own process! xoxo

  • I had a similar experience to Melody as a young child.........and then ART SCHOOL! Accccccckkkkkkkkkk!! My mind is to confused to interfere w my heart:-)

  • bunz11; isn't art school the most fucked up place to be? it screwed with my head for years. the freedom came from me, not from any teacher! ha ha. i like how you say; your head is too confused to interfere with your heart. lol. that's kinda a ... plus.. no? ;) thanks for watching angel! oxxoox

  • love the video. Glad to have you back! I go back and forth with messy and clean in my art journal! I like the messy a lot more!

  • me too Firebird. i have times of being really stylised and 'perfect', but then the messy stuff draws me back in! :D xoxo thanks for watching.

  • Loved the video! Coming from a reformed perfectionist, I'll try to be messier. In the meantime a Haiku just for you.

    Make art from the heart

In touch with your inner self

    Where all good art lies

  • oooooh, i LOVE that haiku! hee. :D thank you for that and yay for trying to be messier (i so know what you mean about being a perfectionist!) xoxo

  • In kindergarten, I got mad at a substitute teacher because she lost patience with me neatly putting glue on the back of a black cat. She took my brush and slapped the glue on. I was HORRIFIED!!! It's taken years of therapy, but I'm learning to be free. My housekeeping proves it too, LOL! Love your art, fabulous!

  • hee hee. this story made me laugh out loud! LOL. i'm glad you're trying to 'free' yourself up. but i don't think that teacher did you any favours by messing with how you did art, children are naturally free anyway, she may actually have caused you to be less free afterwards as you probably felt criticised! *hugs* :))) thanks for watching and sharing that!! xoxo

  • Very awesome video. I am going to try to be messy with my next piece of art! "Art from the Heart" I love that so much!!!

  • yay!! :)))) totally art from the heart, not caring what anyone might say/ not least your own interfering brain! hee. thanks for watching ms goddess! :D xoxox

  • Thanks for this video! I'm in the process of re-discovering my creativity after pushing it into the background for too many years to say. Like you I let my mind interfere with my art - I hesitate to put pencil or brush to paper for fear of messing it up. But if I *intend* to be messy then I can't go wrong can I! "Art From The Heart" That's my new favourite motto!

  • yay! yes, ART from the HEART! totally. our brains can really be a hindrance when we want to express ourselves. i'm so pleased you're going for it again! :) oxoxoox

  • You are the coolest! I absolutely love your collages. I hope your move goes really well and you get settled in soon. :)

  • aw thanks ldplummer! :))) we're moving TODAY! eheheh.. thanks for watching and dropping by, i appreciate it! xoxo
