@jesseabrown1993: yes, but actually, in the original, the gaston-type person was a hired hand at the father's home & those bimbettes you see fawning over gaston act just as superficial as beauty's sisters, since in both, the gaston-type person lusts after beauty whilst the sisters/bimbettes lust after him; the only difference is that in the original, the beast is kind, but the father stole the rose from the beast's garden, which resulted in beauty taking the place of the rose

Oh yeah, I always forget he was human before! I love that in this movie you really fall in love with the beast not just waiting for the spell to be broken. I actually sometimes get a bit dissapointed when he changes to a man again. I guess it's like "wait, who are you? Where's my bison?" But I love it that she knew on the inside, he was still her beast.

If you look closely enough at the beast's face, you can see where the animators incorporated the features of the prince into his beast form, around the cheekbones and the chin, and definitely the eyes.

I think the reason Disney doesn't make movies like this anymore is because all the stories have been done. BUT...they could be orginial and make up some new ones. However there are some stories they haven't done like, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretal, Humpty Dumpty. Granted some of these are quick little stoies, but just add a little here and there and some catchy songs and BAM, you got a movie.
