I noticed the light beams can disappear and come back when toggling Skyrim to the back/foreground on the PC. So, if you can't see the beams, try that.

@headshotkiller1000 I had graphic settings on 'low' and I couldn't see the beams, and I figured that if I upped the graphic settings, I would be, but now I'm worried if you say that didn't help. >.<

On low, I cannot see the beams, I cannot see spiderwebs, and often I can't see magic. I don't know if it's my settings or a glitch of some sort, now.

ps3 version is a glitch cuz if u leave the room before u move the crystals..it wont work regardless if u use the fire and ice magic..i had to restart the game then get back to the room and moe the crystals which worked cuz i didnt leave the room that time

@assblasterjalapeno I just kept flinging spells at different angles and then it just started to work, although this was after going back to an older save . I shot at it at a really odd angle. I imagine this advice isn't very usefull but I'm not really sure what happened myself. It just started working all of a sudden!

Spent fucking half an hour fucking around with the goddamn buttons and crystal trying to figure out why the shit the lights wouldn't align. THE QUEST NEVER FUCKING HINTED THAT I 100% HAD TO USE FLAMES AND FROSTBITE! I kept firing fucking Ice Spear and Firebolt at the damn thing and it made all the go back and forth!

Don't leave the Aedrome because when you return your frost and flame spells won't affect the focusing of the crystal.

It works like a charm using only frostbite. You have to ensure that one ream of light is positioned in every single level of the circular sectors. Thats the only tricky part..after this section every successful rotating try will be 'locked' so things get better..

@Greengeeksam i found that out after leaving and buying a tome. Then i read on youtube if u leave the dungeon during the quest, you cant finish it. And since I didn't have any recent saves, I lost 3 levels at level 50 to 47 and had to re-do everything.

If you have no lights and are playing on PC try either adjusting your lighting quality or updating your graphics drivers. I have heard that both of these can cause problems.

This problem can be solved be updating your video card driver. To complete the quest without being able to see the light beams, first move the green mirrors on the ceiling into their correct positions first - press the middle button 6 times (so the mirror moves 6 positions), the left one 1 time, and the right one 5 times. Then strike the crystal with several shortbursts of frost ... this has to be only the novice level attackshigher destruction spell will not workas it does not focus the lenses

I used frost and fire flames not the bolts. As well as moving light up a down with ice and fire. You can ice it twice to bring it around thata when you can align the mirror type things.
