  • didnt help except i can go buy a what. a some kind of burner. oh well off to walmart. I can get more help at walmart.

  • I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE SHOUTING ABOUT!

  • when u r shouting u sound stupid lol thumbs up!

  • Does this feature only work for Meatballs 2?

  • Jakestooge -- yes but you need a device between the VCR and DVD recorder to do it. The only thing that works 100% is a Time Base Corrector, which run anywhere from $100 - $400. (DataVideo TBC-1000, AVT 8710) There are some other devices that can strip Macrovision as well, but not 100% but pretty close and they are cheaper. Look up Sima or Grex products for ones that work.

  • If the tape has a tan-colored tapeguard, can you still transfer it to DVD?

  • i have a question i want to record xbox gameplay but i cant cuzz my comp is in a duffernt room so could i use this to record please reply someone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a DVD/ VCR combo recorder witch works fine when tranfering VHS to disc or disc to VHS but when i try to play the transfered disc in another player it wont recognise it.I transfered my brothers school play recorded in the 80's,plays fine on the combo recorder but wont on any other, so i tranfered the disc back to a VHS tape and played ok, but in another VCR the quality looked a hundred years old! as if the player copyrote them! I had to take the whole player to my brothers for him to view!

  • Hello just wanted to let you know the newer one you tried to use has copy protection in it. Your brothers from the 80s does not have that i also have one from 1985 and it has no copy protection i use it at the computer to convert movies. @morrismagic08

  • @stpworld You mean the DVD player itself has copy protect on it! holy shit!

  • @morrismagic08 You need to finalize the disc. There should be an option in your DVD Recorder's menu that you will need to find. Finalizing means that you can't put anything else on that disc and it makes it compatible with other DVD Players/computers.

  • @computerkid1416 Thanks for that but the same thing happens when transfering DVD to VCR, it playes ok in that player but putting the VHS in any other VCR it plays as if macro is sensing a copy, rolling lines, sound destortion, all sorts. I figured out how to finalize DVD's on my player but i'me sure VHS tapes dont need to and cant be finalized, Or can they?

  • @morrismagic08 VHS Tapes don't need to be finalized. If you finilized, then I can't think of what could be the problem. Maybe your DVD Recorder is messed up.

  • i saw a bug on the dvd player

  • i used to take magnets into video stores.magnets erase vhs tapes incase you didnt know.

  • Good to know I have 200 Vhs tapes to convert to dvd.

  • Awesome video. Keep on with that good work!

  • I get "Copy Protected" on my DVD Recorder. Damn.

Another way is VHS to DVD software for PC and/or Mac, which costs $59.99-$89.99 and that's what I need is a VHS to DVD software "Easy VHS to DVD 5.0"

  • he looks like bill hader from snl

  • Before downloading the .ISO off some shady, possibly virus-ladened Internet site, see if you can find a copy of the film at your local library.

If it's an older title, then just search Amazon for cheap, used copy.

  • I nominate 'thevideogamebasher' getting its account suspended as the biggest FAIL of 2009. Great job, douche!

  • best way is just download a dvd rip of the film via a torrent website. meatballs 2 classic lo freaken l

  • Stop SHOUTING at me you toilet !

  • when i tried it my DVD recorder said this program is not allowed to be recorded.

  • theres an easier way, its called trash the vhs and go on the pirate bay, rofl

  • my dvd/vhs player dosn't recored dvd

  • yes i have the same problem

  • Ironically I do have a copy of Meatballs II on vhs. Dad had it. Not sure why.

  • thanks

  • Can a pc be used as a DVD burner, if you have a DVD burner on the PC?

  • Um no....I don't have a copy of Meatballs II but thanks for assuming I was an idiot and lacked good taste in movies.....proceed

  • I have a lot accent videos on VCR.Some 20yo.

  • There's a difference between a DVD burner and a DVD recorder. A burner does not always mean recorder.

  • whats the dvd burner he's using

  • Trust me, everything on VHS is now on DVD.

Shitty quality + Good media= shitty quality again. Crap+good=crap ;)

  • No its not thats the point - home videos are not on DVD until you put them there.

And there are plenty broadcasts that are not, some of which no longer have master tapes to transfer from.

  • Good point, but you can't go out and buy your original home videos on DVD. I think transferring to DVD is a good way to preserve unique videos, given burned DVDs will last forever (which they may not).

  • Because this is mostly aimed at home movies, and maybe old TV shows which are hard/impossible to find. To use the parlance of our times duh!

  • @thevideogamebasher Really?? My wedding's on DVD?

  • Yo, do you need a dvd burner?

  • i seen the two (pt.1&2)movies. about 20 years ago......

  • Gracias!

  • Trouble is if your movie has Macro protection on it forget it you ain't going to be transferring it! OK for home movies shot by yourself, so the porno of the mrs and you yep no problem transfer!

  • I got around that by feeding the video into a video capture card on my PC. The only problem is your video quality will only be as good as the VHS quality. Which is pretty crappy on old tapes. There are some software that will clean it up but not to dvd quality.

  • if you have a dvd player and a vhs player why would you need to transfer the vhs to dvd? just watch it on vhs, its not like the video quality is going to change at all

  • DVD have a wayyyy longer shelf live... especially if you have home videos recorded, as VHS will get mold and will not last.

  • Perhaps, because people may want to digitize their media.

  • So you can transfer the dvd movie to PC maybe? Thats what I need it for.

  • wtf is meatballs 2? sounds like some dodgey porno

  • comedy.. around the "porkys" movie era. its classic. over 20 years?...

  • OUUUUT!!

  • VHS?

  • DVD has taken over VHS nowadays yeah don't see VHS anymore.

  • how much is a dvd burner ..can sumbody awnser

  • You can pick a cheap one up for about £70\$60.

    Try Amazon.

  • Or use a TV card in your pc and hook up a VHS into it and burn the disc.

  • ...the fuck is Meatballs 2?

  • i know...lol!!

  • Judging from teh doods man boobs it's probably a food fetish porno :|

  • I don't know either...and I'm not sure if I want to know. lol

  • wooooot expertvillage has 132000 vids!!!!

  • and everysingle on is usless lol

  • The unit on the top is not a DVD burner it is only a DVD player

  • NO ON PROP. 8!!!!!!

  • 34 yes

  • Why are you shouting?

  • A good way to record from any video source to DVD is to connect the source device to a camcorder that can convert analog to digital and stream to your harddrive over firewire.

  • Not everyone has access to a camcorder. Instead, one can simply connect the VCR directly to the DVD recorder.

  • @randomherov2 how do you do that.??? i cant figure ANYTHING out.!

  • GET A VCR AND DVD RECORDER COMBINED

  • Really. True.

  • this guy has a cock in his mouth

  • +1 for you, sir

  • :D :D :D

  • video OUT! lol

  • ooooh soooooo coooooool jk...

  • who'd waste a cheap dvd with a crap vhs copy of a movie? lol

  • there are good documentaries and also movies I taped 15-20 years back from TV, which can't be found on DVD. So yeah... good to know how to go about it.

  • 'sweety-tard' is more like it.

  • wtf??

  • ORRRR.... you could get a tv card, hook your vhs player's video out into your tv card's video in port, get an RCA to mini jack cable and run that cable from your VHS player's audio out to your line in on your sound card. this only gives 1 of the two stereo channels though, so you might want to get a second sound card, a second RCA to mini jack cable and run the other stereo channel of your VHS into the line-in of your second sound card.

  • ORRRR.... you could buy a STEREO 3.5mm plug(Mini jack plug) to DUAL RCA cable and record the stereo audio!!!

  • Wow - it's like the American version of Barry Scott.

  • HA!

  • Synopsism, were you born like 5years ago?
