National debt fell under Carter and soared under Bush... Carter signed Camp David, opened relations with China and gave us SALT II - - Bush destabilized the entire region. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". . I was a kid when Carter was in office. All I remember about him was his peanut farm and his Alcoholic brother and Billy Beer. Also everything doubling in price while Carter was in office. I was buying candy bars for a dime and in 2 years they jumped up to 25 cents, gas prices doubling, everything doubled in price.
