  • Actually, those last two locomotives are AC4400's. Notice their radiator size and shape, as well as the intake grills. Also, UP GEVOs have a slightly smaller flag than the other units, and the size difference is evident here.

  • @MrJmprice: You are correct. I wasn't paying close attention when I recorded this video more than 3 years ago.

  • At least the Union Pacific is making an effort to show continuity on the tracks acquired in mergers. Several ex-Southern Pacific EMD turbodiesels are still in black and red with yellow UP numberboards on their cabs.

  • all these fallen flag railroads that up took over its just wrong up should feel sick but they dont care they just want money and tracks

  • Great video, what a shame WP is gone.

  • Film these Heritage units as you see them... Cuz when they come up for overhauls, UP is gonna paint em all Armour Yellow and Gray and Renumber them.

  • I think that was the QNPRV

    but i'm not sure

  • I didn't know there was a WP heritage. I like the scheme but I don't like the fact WP is gone and under UP just like the others. RIP!

  • awesome video

  • I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard UP has multiple heritage units. For example, a couple MOPACs, or a couple WPs.

  • That's not true there's only one MOPAC unit, only one WP unit, only one CNW unit etc.

  • @Weiberts Heritage units are always single units just so the owning corporation can keeps the rights to the fallen flags name. So UP has a WP/MoPac and other fallen flags "heritage" units to protect their ownership of the fallen flag's name. Just like USAir has a PSA jetliner heritage jet and a Piedmont Airways heritage jet. There's no corporate heart bleeding here, heritage units are simply a way to maintain ownership of the fallen flag's name or it's abandoned.

  • Thats great. I film trains just North of Roseville.

  • Nice catch, I know the WP 1983 and Miss Katy 1988 was stationed here in MEI East St. Louis, Missouri for the longest time, which in that time period also led the DRGW 1989 to make its furthest trip East right here in the heart land of IL. I do believe 1983 is on its way back west and I think Miss Katy is still in MEI. The heritage units sure seem to be stretching out of their home boundaries in the past few months, which ofcourse, sets us up for extremely better shots!

  • I was at this same spot today railfanning, got some good video.

  • that was great, terrific!
