No, "the creator Ken Akamatsu is married to a hot former model/Japan idol and Mutsumi is based off of Ken’s wife.

And originally in the plans for Love Hina there was going to be, “Midori” with this characters traits going to what would become Mutsumi Otohime, and Naru was named Naru and having the bad attitude.

I for one would have liked the anime to be just like the manga so it would be longer and no fillers.
