@katiemule215 i agree with your comment, he did go out like Elijah....and his legacy will continue to bless others. Rich was not of this world, he seemed sad due to his intense accute awareness for suffering and longing to be with the Lord.
@veelighted7 I dont think it was sad, it was peace. He always spoke truth, and that truth gave him peace, as promised by the Bible through his relationship with Christ.
He went out in a modern day chariot.... RIP Rich... love all your songs and your heart for the Lord! What a legacy! Everyone needs to hear his songs.. what a blessing!
This song moves me more than any other. My husband and I cried upon learning of Rich Mullins death. But... how happy we are to be certain he's with our Lord. What a wonderful man of God he is and always will be. God bless the USA in these trying times.
It hurts everytime I hear any of his songs. I love Rich Mullins and I saw him in concert when I was really little and I miss him very much. I love all of his songs even counting his latest song "My Deliverer" the song he wrote right before he died.
Wow this brings backs sad memories; I had never heard of Rich until I heard this song in 97 or 98 and fell in love with this and all his music within days, only to learn a few weeks later that he had recently died. This song is a comfort to those those who loved Rich.
You know he's singing at Jesus' feet... praising God & enjoying the fellowship of the Saints! God bless the memory of Rich! Our God is an AWESOME GOD!!!
This man is greatly missed. If any of you haven't heard, Caedmon's Call for a song just after he died about him called "The Rich Song". Don't know if it is on youtube but it is a great song to hear as well. Good tribute to Rich.
We played this song at my Dad's funeral and it was only the second or third time I had heard it, over 10 years ago. Now I can sing every word by heart...deeply touching me. I am now a Christian and looking forward to this!
One of the strongest songs ever written and sung....."How it's OK to be lonely as long as you're free." Rich was and is free. I love this song-the truth throughout just resonates with my spirit... God bless Rich Mullins and the legacy he has left all of us....
I love this song and I think very often about it. I hope Rich got his wish, and is with Jesus now.
