Yes (as far as Mega Man 2 is concerned). Many remix tracks for Mega Man 1-6 in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection are based from the arcade titles Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. A good majority of these tracks were made originally for the emulation technology (which seems to be based off of the Japan-only Rock Man Complete Works that were released for the Sony PlayStation in 1999).
For the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection, setting Navi Mode to on through the Gameplay Options will be able to let you hear the remix music for most stages in Mega Man 1-6 (as well as hints for all levels). The remix music is unavailable in the GameCube version, supposedly because the disk size was too small for it.
Sorry...Just remember that some of the remix music comes from Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, so you can still hear them in the GameCube version of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Unless you're willing to get another version just for the remix music, that's what I can tell you...
If you don't mind me asking, how did you come across this conclusion/information (I merely speculated a size issue knowing that the GameCube disks, which hold about 1.5 gigabytes of data, were smaller in both size and capacity than the PlayStation 2 and Xbox roughly-3-GB DVDs). Considering that each console had different Dolby sound outputs, I can see how that can be a slight possiblity (but, as far as I know, the differences aren't too drastic, let alone for excluding certain music tracks).
This gameplay footage was recorded from the PlayStation 2 version of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection (as written in the description). The Easy difficulty setting is demonstrated in the video.
i like the old ones and the remixes but wish they could give the rock-oriented ones the same vibe: wood-man, air-man and the 1st stage of the fortress.
Oh Look! Its that child edition of the cybergenetic hero second adventure! Which comes a decade after its predecessor with such outstanding upgraded elements as..
A bird pointing out mega mans way, in case he tried going backwards, like mistake the stages for go cart tracks. Also, the all-necessarily exclamation icon! That not only blinks the entire time during a stage (highly useful) but also points.. no directs our blue friend's every step. Wow, thats.. redundant.
"disabling the hints also disables the new music."
That is very much appreciated as if its one thing I despise its new tapestry on old walls. Just frocking build a new room if you want to extend the xperience.
I agree with molonlave2010 and disagree with theredkatana. I like the remix. I wish they make a soundtrack remix DLC for Megaman 9. I can take 8-bit graphics with arranged music.
and apparently there is 'turbo' shooting aswell now rofl... and everyone playing these 'remixed' megaman levels get hit again and again :D i could finish these levels with my eyes closed without being hit a single time when i was 12 years old. :D
it depends on the song..in my opinion I havent heard a remix better than the original for airman. But i have heard some very good metalman and wily stage remixes that i like better.
Megaman 6 was weird, and difficult. I don't care for it. Try this one, Megaman 2, or Megaman 1. I prefer Megaman 1, but this one's good too. With the Anniversary Collection (PS2, GameCube, Xbox) you get the first 8 (WOW!!!) and 2 arcade games. Pretty cool. You can get it really cheap now.
Well, if there WERE a few things that were going for MM6/RM6, they were the best boss selection music ever (though that might change when MM9/RM9 is released), the unique (and equally frustrating) fake boss and real boss in a game, to be able to visit a stage again after defeating a fake boss and whipping the real boss with their own weapon, and some really good intro music and some prety good stage music, too. I prefr the MM: PU version of MM/RM, though. Sorry but I like Time Man and Oil Man.
way to use turbo fire...

Aren't all these remixes essentially just the tracks from the Mega Man arcade games?

I hate chip music. I like the remixed music. I can take 8-bit graphics with remixed music. I wish Mega Man 9 had a remix music option.
TediusZanarukando 3 years ago
What are you talking about? The original Airman song is infinitely better than this pathetic "remix".

I strongly disagree. You are nothing but a nostalgic fanboy. I dislike chip music. I like the remixed version better than the original.

Remixed version sounds terrible. The beat sounds more at place in an infomercial.

NOOOOOOO!!!! HOW COULD THEY REMIX THAT EPIC MENU MUSIC!!!! but the air man remix pwns.

it would so much easier to beat this level
Lucareji 3 years ago
That's an excellent song. However, to be honest I did not find Airman, or his stage, to be particularly difficult.
SuperWazzle 2 years ago 3
Which mode did you play it on?
Rubberman202 2 years ago
True, true, I did play it on easy mode. How difficult is "difficult", though?
SuperWazzle 2 years ago
It's the normal difficulty in Japan... And it's freaking TOUGH!
Rubberman202 2 years ago
this could have been very well much better. All they needed to do was make it faster paced.
