I don't know what the conditions were that day but I wondered if you had ever glided over to a ridge expecting an updraft and found nobody home. And "wind shadows". Is that the gentlemanly equivalent of 'OH SH..!'
Burno: in the midwest on a monday (no weekend) snowing and enjoying every minute of your work. I flew for gliders in my youth, I had to stop while in the military, no time. This spring I'll get my licence again and will be in the market for a glider. Where would you suggest starting first?

@AllSingingAllDancing Hey no problem. Not a bad question. Because this is a glider you need to use the air currents to get lift. The beeping tells you if you are in raising air or sinking air. Please take a look at some of my other soaring videos. This one does not show the instrument panel like the other ones. Take care, Bruno
