@farymn PBS has a full series on Ganges Pollution, you should check it out if you are interested. Yeah this stuff is really nasty... and actually Pakistani's are Muslim and all Muslims make sanitation a huge deal, so yeah Pakistan is a whole lot better.
It was once said that "ignorance has prevailed so long, only because people do not want to find out the truth". I find unfortunate that these people do not turn to the government to take action about the issue, simply because their belief dictates that a river will clean itself one way or another. It's amazing what humans can live by in terms of creed, it just simply amazes me how they seem not to care, give it a little sip, a REALLY STRONG SMELL less than 20 feet away sometimes... wow.

I think it's already natural on their bodies to be a lot stronger than "outsiders" not to get sick around all that ignorance. If actions aren't taken there will be huge consequences. I don't hate anyone I just want this river to be clean like it was. ganges was famous for it's clear fresh water.
And they blame others for their own problems. I ahve a problem with poluution, the government should stop people and factories from polluting the river. If you want to throw waste in the river, you have pay a little fee and get a license. you pay like $150 a year. The Government is corrupt.
