It depends. In this video I think Sid was only about 3 months (after the date I bought him - he was pencil thick then). He ate whenever he was hungry so he grew a lot (12in in one month)... I don't recommend feeding them that much as it leads to a lot of health issues, shortened lifespan and obesity.
nice corn!amazin colors! how old is he/she? i once gave my corn a hamster (cuz the pet store ran out of mice) i felt sorry for the little guy but zacky (my corn) needed to eat.. and he managed with no problem :)and btw im a girl too :D oh and for all u losers who say that snake videos arent supposed o be on youtube then..simply dont watch it...cant see u asking the tv to cancel the discovery channel..just dont search it dont watch it and dont leave stupid comment :)
hamsters are tough little guys for these snakes to tackle, I've seen other vids on youtube and the results are kinda the same, thinking twice about giving my anerythristic cornsnake a hamster
Once again another sad person who feels to share lowlight videos of animals being killed if you find this funny watch it at home if you must but keep it off you tube or once again a shotgun and snake may amuse others more get my drift
wow the second time it wraped around it u can tell he got a real good grib, best gribs ive seen from all snake u can see how ur snake use its tail to tie its self into a knot on the hamster. kool corn snake u should check out mine in my videos
Because I'm not a wimp and scared of everything "creepy" like most girls...?
To call a person you don't even know heartless is a brave statement.
If you must know, I honestly do feel pity for every live animal fed to my snakes, because I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Yet, if I were in the jungle I would accept the fact that it could be a possibility.
Also, I have the understanding and the ability to comprehend that it's a necessity for one animal to die in order for another to live.
I don't entirely understand why you're feeding it a hamster... They've got to cost more than feeder mice. Also, I'm thinking hamsters might be more dangerous by experience. Being bitten twice by them and having perminant damange both times. I've never been bit by mice, though.
That's generally why I don't feed them hamsters - because they're much more vicious than a mouse. When this particular video was taken I was breeding hamsters simply because they're bigger and breed more successfully than my gerbils or mice.
how can the hamster be dumb ? like it has a fuckin choice ? the only thing that's dumb is this snakes owner, i'd have laughed my fuckin tits off if the hamster had killed the snake, maybe that will happen one day!!
couple of things, the rodent u r feeding it is far to big for the snake. and also do not feed live food cuz it will fight back and damage your amzing snake.
well the snake was lucky to don't bite. It happen one time with me, that the snake missed the construction, and she could escape but i didn't let him time to strike a second time. The mouse has survive so i did let her live.
I know, it makes me feel bad when they do. :\ I'd prefer pre-killed because it's easier/cheaper but they don't like it and then the thawed rodent is wasted.
my corn snake is fed on defrosted mice once a week, and loves them. if i had to feed him live animals then id get rid of him...couldnt do it. please keep trying to feed ur snake defrosted mice, just hold it by its tail and jiggle it a bit, then the snake will constrict it. the sound of the hamster is unbearable.
hats off to you, ive nothing but admiration for your comments, if only more people had more compassion like you.you are clearly a responsible snake owner with respect not just for your snakes but animals in general.
That is an awsome Corn video. That hamster you were feeding your corn was a bit too big for him I think. I have a corn that is bigger than yours and I don't feed him hamsters because he lacks the girth. If you have a video of your corn actually eating a hamster that size please post it in my Snake Enthusiast Group page. I think it would make a grate addition to our collection
Nah. Something spooked him (snake) after the camera clip ended and let it go. After that I just decided to leave the hamster alone and let it become a breeder.
