Actually...you cant do any damage with a q-tip. Their ear cannals are shapped like an "L", they're not like a human ear cannal. That is wat my vet taught me when my puppy had an ear infection and I had to clean the ears regularly. So no worries! :)

Good, but I was waiting for a dog grooming demonstration also:( Come on, demonstrate! lol I think that you could probably explain how to do anything very well! From where I am, high end purina food from the vet is quite overpriced. Unless you love your vet or you need prescription food, I would stay away from buying food at the vet...even toothbrushing stuff is cheaper away from the vet and the same high quality:) yeah, and q tips are evil lol JK ;)

Do you groom dogs your self? I groom dogs and if you have any questions about it i will gladly give you detailed instructions on breed specific clips or just dog grooming in general. Videos are good. For matthrv: i use PurePet products for dogs. They are an all natural dog shampoo/conditioner line designe for show dogs. They work very well i love this product. I also use Plush Puppy grooming products. They have a wide array of specially designed products for any need (for show dogs)

Leslie - you are absolutely correct about some grooming aspects like the importance of dental care and coat management. As a professional pet groomer for the past 5yrs, I don't groom many dogs for $40, but it all depends on where people live. Thanks for the video!

I've been a groomer for 2 1/2 years now and those are some very good points Leslie made. However, we don't brush teeth or do anal glands because only a vet knows how to do the latter properly. Puppysbreath, may I ask if your salon is in a rich or middle class neighbourhood?

I too am a Dog Groomer (5 years, Australia), and I was trained to do Anal Glands... It's not that hard, it just seems that most groomers don't want to do it because it's such a revolting job. Of course, if you have trouble expressing the anal gland - puss, blood, or overt firmness - it's best to leave it for the vet.
