I saw Starz in Bangor, Maine in 1977. They and The Dictators opened for Uriah Heep. I used to have a Ritchie Ranno guitar pick that I caught when he flipped it into the audience. I've since lost it. The Dictators blew everyone away that night! So fucking heavy!
For unusual and rare Starz collectibles, check out StarzStuff . . . a joint charity venture from guitarist Brendan Harkin and the family of Piet Sweval. A new LIVE cd, ringtones, one of a kind items. Google it. YouTube won't let me post a URL . . .
Where do I get those cool shirts? Been waiting for one for about 20 years! What a band!
Liked them from the first time I heard them, back in the 70's. Damn, I didn't just tell my age did I? Go Michael, bro Rex, and Richie Ranno, kick ass works for me! Who was that other dude with an album/CD? They will have to let me know of Ritchie's album. Wow what a difference, but we all change after 20 something years,
Nothing ever works perfect! Deal with it and move on with life!
I was always dying for the black/yellow logo on a shirt back then...it's official...I'm dated. Starz, Montrose...who sez the 70's had only Disco?!?!!?
Richie Ranno is not only a shreddin' & kick ass guitar player...but he's one hell of a nice guy too! That black and yellow Starz album from the mid-'70s still sounds as good now as it did then! How many albums can you say that about??? Very few man!
damn!! i used to crank all 4 records of starz i had, in the basement of my parents house back in 1983 when i was 16!!! thanks for the wayback machine that you have just put me in!!!!
I'm sitting here next to Jim Beck who contributed to this group's efforts since 1969! And he'd like to say---"Our dreams are not unfound!"
Keep looking!
