If you have not been to Barber Motorsports Park, GO. It is one of the nicest road courses in the world, certainly about the all around nicest in the U.S. I know, Elkhart Lake is bigger, Mid Ohio has its fans (including me) and Lime Rock is so full of charm to be so small, but Barber is just all aound great balance, big enough, but still not so big you only see the cars every 8 minutes, the place is neat and pretty, and the elevation changes are a kick, plus, the bike museum and Lotus collection
nice video. that first spin where you darted up high right before the pit lane, that is such a bad line and I see so many people take it. There is no reason to get up any further out than 1/3 or middle track from the right hand side. Every time I'm on that track I run up on cars taking that high line really fast. You actually appeared to 'artificially' dart out as though you felt you had to get out to a certain point to take that corner and spun out needlessly. Otherwise, good driving.
@bongborin It's a Toyota 1.8 I4. Standard power is 189hp or 220hp for the SC model. Only weighs <2000llbs though so pretty quick and handles/stops incredibly well.
Exceeded limit and hot tires. I spin every once and while. Happens at 10/10. On slicks I hit consistent 143, 144s and not know if anyone faster on this track in an Elise. As an instructor, I am constantly taking people on rides and they always say they wildest ride they have been on. Maybe driving like shit, maybe a bit foolish . . .
for all you people comenting on this guys driving... let me tell you... he is very consistent and knows how to hug an apex... and saying someone is a shitty driver because he spun the car twice... well let me see you handle a 900kg car with 220hp RWD with limited traction control and go fast enough in a bend to actualy unstick it from the tarmac :) all i can say... nice driving and respect :)
mmm...idk..its a nice track and if you live not to far away from it it's amazing..barber has a nicer facility than any of those tracks and the museum at barber IS AMAZING
actually doesnt sound like the 2zzge, because i never heard when the 2nd cam changes at 6200 rpm's (you always hear the frenetic sound of the motor change between 6200 and 8300 rpms)
I spun out in turn #9 the 911 GT2 training car at Barber. It was scary as hell going into the pit at 130+

Great driving. I love watching the car pull away when it hits high rpms.

From 3:06-3:13
that same thing happened to me on my 1992 Toyota MR-2!
Except it was on the street and there's an on coming traffic. And again in the rain. =D

I already know that this car comes with a 1.8L(2zzge) from the Celica GT-S model, but the sound is like a Honda's sounds. =D

Using the rev limiter all the time like that aint good for the yota engine.
chiQiboy 2 years ago
hitting the rev-limiter isn't bad for the engine, it actually protects it! The only thing it hurts is your ego and your lap time...

Lotus Elise is the same engine as Toyota Celica GT-S but with a Yamaha Head. Let me tell you, that's why the car is amazing. TOYOTA QUALITY
