@dakota23750, I agree, but there's definitely more. Billy Corgan, Kurt Cobain, Thom Yorke, Scott Weiland, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Michael Stipe, Andy Gibb, Bradley Nowell, Layne Staley to name a few; have the most unique voices ever.
I would like to get some feedback on a song I made the other day, I know this is not the correct place to do this, but youtube deleted all the "music groups" and we've been screwed ever since XD . I hope you guys could check out this song and leave your feedback. I'll help me a lot.
What an entrance ! One hall of famer and one definate hall of famer on stage together in a small venue....wish i was there. And they haven't lost anything yet!
At 4:26 I am sorry I don't know the lead singer from R.E.M.'s band but he is impersonating the way Eddie Vedder was singing the yea, yea yeaaa part. That made me laugh a bit.
That vocal is on the original album version, so actually Eddie Vedder is singing a correct backing vocal, and Stipe takes over when Vedder sings lead.
@Eyedunno I know that R.E.M. did this song originally and that Eddie is just a guest singer. Eddie has a very distinct way of singing and he sang the "yea" part like he normally sings. They switched who was singing the backing vocals and the Stipe guy does that weird trailing off goat'esk thing Eddie does. I found it rather entertaining.
Can you buy this on Itunes/CD two of my most favouirte voices ever. Eddie is for me one of the most if not underrated artists of our time. Not many people know who he or Pearl Jam are [In Birmingham/UK anyways]
Well, Ten is certified 13X platinum, and Pearl Jam must have been staggeringly popular in the U.K. as well in the early '90s, so I think "underrated" is the wrong adjective - it doesn't seem right for any band that's sold more than 10 million of a single record.
Pearl Jam is now kind of a Grateful-Dead-esque steady touring band, which is where they apparently wanted to be to begin with rather than being heartthrobs for teenage girls, so in a sense they're more successful than ever.
@kbestrada I prefer Eddie, listen to him far more often and my Nirvana days are pretty much over. However, he championed R.E.M. more in his lifetime, and they inspired him to seek an audience, so I think he should've done this.
it's great to see that the got bill berry to play on that night with them too. l don't think they've ever been quite the same without him.. thanks for the post
Mr. Eddie Vedder is seriously the man...No matter how much I listen to anything other then "Ten" when I hear Eddie's voice it just takes me back to when I first heard "Jeremy"
I love Eddy Vedder, but this is Micheal Stipes song through and through. He sure looks classy in the white suit. I get goosebumps when he screams "cool".
Just a few hours ago, on the Fedora Lounge, I was reading a thread about men in white suits. It was stated that the white suit had become almost a costume and that only a chosen few can pull it off without looking like Colonel Sanders or Boss Hogg. Tom Wolfe wears it well. I'd add Stipe to the (small) list of men that pull off the white suit.

Hell man, he forgets the lyrics to his *own* songs. I was personally at a concert (Camden, NJ, 06/20/08) where Eddie not only missed his intro for "Love Boat Captain" he then mumbled his way about 4 bars into the first verse, and promptly said "Aw, fuck, I can't remember that one right now, fuck." They then moved on to "Corduroy," after a rimshot from Matt to rib Eddie.
no, i'm pretty sure he messed up :D listen to it, he should have said "staff", but he says snog :) haha..
I love eddie's work, as a musician and an activist but that doesn't have a thing to do with the fact that he didn't read the lyrics before the show (or listen to the song) ...
