  • Lol, I can't tell if he's angry or happy as he's swearing down the radio :)

  • Its 2001

  • Fucking Brilliant! Awesome :')

  • Damn! the answer is so easy!!! Is 2001!!!!, just look at his helmet with the Compaq partnership, in 2002 It was with HP...

  • Juan cared about racing not his hairstyle and pay, I always liked him

  • shit he was comeing quicker ;-)

  • It's 2001! Fuck sake just watch this video and watch video of the 2002 version.

  • A great driver, a great personality, taken from us fans by political in-fighting. GOOD JOB BERNIE.

  • @Ferrariman601 I heard he took himself out of F1

  • this is actually 2002, in 2001 they raced on the older and longer track

  • @Optimate1

Nope, it is 2001. Shorter Hockenheim track has a pole time of approx 1.14s. Look at the second sector time here- 1m11s. I doubt the final sector is just 3s in duration. ;)

  • oh right, sorry. you are right, good video.

  • @Optimate1 watch?v=IGJwUn4hXDk

  • @Optimate1 its 2001, the older track used the stadium section as well

  • Definitely 2001 !!!

  • @Optimate1 "28 Jul 2001 – The 25-year-old Williams driver was quickest round the Hockenheim circuit in a time of one minute 38.117secs. The Colombian, in his first ..."

  • Just check results at f1.com ... winner of GP Germany 2002 made 67 laps, and winner of 2001 made 45 laps..

  • He sounded a bit of a scouse lol

  • They told him to switch of something, BMW was having illigal TCS super control that year.

  • "shit i was going quicker! fucking brilliant!" lol, the unmistakable language of JP...

  • i like the was his race engineer just says well done to you too

  • LMAO at the Williams guy saying "Well done to you too," Juan is classic

  • Montoya didn't have a very good attitude, but he was a real racer and he had character

  • Montoya didn't even qualify on pole for 2002... how could this possibly be 2002???

  • i love montoya!! he a beast! lol

  • 2001 no doubt because TV graphics implented on TV screen

  • Its o1 , the steering wheel and mirrors are different to that of 02

  • I wish Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button would do that sometimes to the McLaren guys cuz they deserve to be cussed out

    Great Fucking Job JPM!

  • BMW v10 was a beast.

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT LAP! SHIT I WAS COMING QUICKER!

Montoya no doubt the king of radio.

  • Fucking BRILLIANT hahaha!

  • ignition on or everything off?

  • It is definitely 2001, the stadium section was left unchanged in the new track, that's why many are confused.

  • It is 2001

  • JPM-legend of the radio converstion :)

  • Absolutely!

He said it as it was...

  • " Shit I was coming quicker...FUCKING brilliant! " lmao YA JUAN! YOU ROCK! we miss you

  • "Shit, i was coming quicker!" LOL! I miss U JPM!

  • fucking brilliant!!!!!

  • You may be right, but in those years Montoya wasn't alone. Raikkonen in 2003 was quicker than MSC (he has lost the WC in 2003 for 2 points or so...), and the finn in 2005 deserved to win the championship. 2002 and 2004 were the years were Ferrari was far superior, but the other times schumi had to fought to win ;)

  • @Matteo11z

The 2001 Ferrari was also in a class of its own. Way more reliable and faster than either McLaren or Williams.

  • Trust me, it's 2001! This is on the old Hockenheim- it wasn't used in 2002. JPM took pole by 0.019s from Ralf, but as you can see from the clip he was faster on his final run, which he aborted as pole was secure.

He took pole at the last moment from Ralf at the Nurburgring in 2002.. by 0.009s!

  • You're right man.

  • I'm with Podmeister, and other fact is that JPM started F1 in 2001 and in his fist year he had couple of pole positions, and this one was the fist one.....then it's 2001.

  • The tracked was changed to its current form for the 2002 race, so if this were 2002 he would be driving through a forrest path instead of the straights

  • @avillarreal if it was 2002 montoya would have a HP logo on his helmet rather than Compaq, as there was a change in sponsors mid-season that year. Also Fedex would be visible on the front of the car

  • @avillarreal the old hockenheim wasnt used in 2002

  • @avillarreal watch?v=IGJwUn4hXDk

  • This is not 2001, this is 2002... In 2001 he took the pole at the last freaking moment!

  • This is 2001- on the old Hockenheim track. In 2002 the shorter/new version was used and Schumacher took the pole on that.

Not sure what race you are thinking of? In 2001 he took pole after the chequer in the wet at Spa. That was his second F1 pole position.

  • In 2002 he didn't take the pole

  • @avillarreal /watch?v=IGJwUn4hXDk

  • @avillarreal

man stop screaming for nothing.. this is obviusly 2001.. old version of hockenheım with 1.38.xx lap times.. the new version was a year later.. ralf had had 1.38.13x and montoya came with 1.38.11x and got the pole. BMWs were dominating in that year on long straights..

  • The good old days! Yes!!

  • yep, i remembered this back in 2001, it was just exciting as hell!!!
