  • its allbout finding your nicth everone has one everone. just look around and you will find it.

  • the comments here are hilarious. someone's going nuts with a thesaurus!

  • Listen to that laugh of insecurity 9 seconds into the video. Is Qbert insecure of his small stature, his ethnicity? And why does he insist on wearing that hat and its angular location atop his bald head? Trademark look?

  • Regarding his "claim to fame", if your understand this interview in the context of the 20,000 + utube viewers, the dj generates socially acceptable discourse removed from instinctual drives that support his survival i.e. his financial viability. He has seduced you into thinking that he is honest, real, credible and that his integrity as a dj and human being are intact. When you say "pretty much underground" do you disregard his subsequent financial success? Things are what they seem.

  • That thing about soul is true. I'm far from the world's best DJ (been spinning in my bedroom for the last 8 years) but I love what I do & a few friends have said that my love 4 mixing & scratching "shines through" in my bedroom sets so 1 of them said I have soul & named me TrueSoul! Peace out everyone...DJTrueSoul.

  • This is one of the most insightful interviews I've ever seen a dj give. The bit about how Z-Trip isn't as good with technical scratches so he makes up for it with by being funky and musical instead of just showing off is really interesting. It's also great to hear someone successful explain that success in the industry comes to people who love dj'ing enough that they'd do if they got paid or not.

  • just for the record, dj ztrip's mind is controlled by Lucifer who determines what music the audience hears at any given time. ztrip, to fullfill the pact he made with Lucifer, will play anything to capture the heart, mind and soul of his audience for economic mobility and self-adulation. And the audience pays for it. Yes, it sounds far fetched, but if you read into ztrip's history and the direction his career has taken, you may begin to understand his purpose.

  • @birddogfreemann lmfao z trips mind is controlled by lucifer?? ahahahahahahahahahahaha

Z trip is one of the few real people left in this world and oh YOUR mind is controlled by lucifer for being a paranoid little shit.

  • @shanttytown "real"? he is as real as his djhero character. after years of listening to led zepplin, black sabbath, his mind is now twisted for the satanic purpose, to dilute the minds of individuals like yourself. he is a commodity bought and sold. He has sold you and the masses on his "real"ness, he has mainstreamed rap/dj culture. The satanic death-metal has subliminally infected his mind. After the infamous faustian bargain ztrip made...

  • @shanttytown Satan implanted a homunculus inside his brain to obligate ztrip to fullfill his part of the bargain, that is, to drill Satan's music into as many minds as possible, to propagate the mashup, the commercial evil, the waste of time, to obfuscate the brainless followers, like yourself, into thinking he is real, but behind the cloak of normalcy, lies evil. Now, he is a slave to Satan and must dwell in the smoke infested nightclubs. You are a mindless fanboy and he doesnt care about you

  • @birddogfreemann Yes because Z-TRIP has as much influence as artists like eminem and jay-z (sarcasm)

Ill stick with my gut and say artists like eminem and jayz made hip hop mainstream NOT a dj.

  • @shanttytown You gut has subsumed your rational logic. Your emotions have understood the influence of ztrip in relationship to your intuitive enjoyment of his "music" which is ultimately the music of mainstream hiphop and classic rock n roll artists hence the mashup. His influence is multiplied by the levels of music he integrates. His ultimate goal is to influence and to gain influence otherwise he would stay in his bedroom. "Pretty much underground"? His soul is Satan.

  • @birddogfreemann lol i am laughing my ass off reading your comment this is comedy gold.

  • @shanttytown Now, if ztrip's influence increases the likelihood of your believe of his underground influence, the energy your exert listening to his music and expounding on its relevance of the underground is increased in relationship to the frequency of his performances. It is the logical goal of any financially motivated dj to extend his influence beyond his underground presence. His mash-ups amplify his intensity, in addition to his appearance on major tv, la vegas, and djhero.

  • @birddogfreemann WTF is with the way you word your paragraphs? Its annoying as hell take an english class you dumbass.

You have officially reached "moron troll" status congrats.

Go troll a different artist like JAY-z or eminem ya know someone who deserves this kind of trolling you fag.

  • @shanttytown Your annoyance, shifts of emotion and attempts at ridicule are my enjoyment. Your mental morass demonstrates your attraction to ztrip. His mindless followers, including yourself, indicate a mental capacity successfully subsumed by the "mash-up". Your animalistic desires thrive in the environment that ztrip perpetrates as an economic system of ego control built upon by the primal instinctual patterns that propagate the satanic force.

  • @birddogfreemann z-trip despite his rep is not well known at all.

Ask a random white kid on the street who DJ z-trip is and they will say WTF who is z trip.

His claim to fame like the vid says is when he played before a rolling sones concert. Besides that this guy is pretty much underground. Oh and you might just be a hater have you heard his mash-ups? They are AWESOME!

  • Yow... Z, keep doing your thing bro. You're doing something right cause you got Dolt's like bdfm on your nutz. Gay? Who's following who for weeks? For days? Dude better go find a girl... and jus cool!

  • @djtonypsalms Yes. Do you really thing ztrip is reading "your" posts? Yes, its unfortunate that I spend time, however, to dispel the myth behind ztrip it is worth the attempt. Regarding females, I try to avoid the seduction involved with females and I don't chase (go find) after women. For what it's worth, youre a follower of ztrip. Somehow he has generated your interest ( an economic ploy) and I have incited you to react. hopefully, you may reconsider ztrip. thanks for your interest.

  • Why dont you just stay in your bedroom? Satan has put desire, fame fortune into your head. You are possessed by the Devil. All the people Wondered over to you.

Nice Freudian slip (a drink doesnt help). It doesnt help. Get your head together, Satan's got control of your mind.

  • BEFORE A SHOW, ZTRIP HAS his "ALONE TIME" (how gay) and prays to Satan, smells his Vanilla Candles that his ryder requires..You are Satan's puppet, he controls your destiny. watch out your snowboarding fall from grace isnt your last fall.

  • you should bend down, bow down to qbert and learn how to scratch with your left hand. Satan is pulling ztrips puppet strings.

  • z trip is selling out , plain and simple. the masses are too dumb to recognize. as long as they are entertained...ztrip is just an animation for the masses. He is self-absorbed. he doesnt care about the masses, just himself, his fame and fortune.

  • he resolves his stage fright by lighting the vanilla candles and satan takes over. the devils playground (robert johnson). a drink? satan's beverage. alone time?? satan threw him to the wolves. qbert and his spiritual wizardry. did satan give you your soul? signing a deal with hollywood records (walking dead) I wonder where SOUL comes from??Successful? Las Vegas? Bars? nightclubs dens of satan. you stopped worring and gave it up to satan. THATS IRONIC, qbert is talking abt rewards..BAM GOD SLAP

  • opening for the rollingstones (Satanic majesty) was ztrips rite of intitiation, a pact with Satan. you were thrown to the wolves. fame and fortune has followed you. you sold your soul to the devil. Walking dead, las vegas, dj hero, jimmy kimmel, you are now the priest who commands the masses, hypnotize the masses. be careful for what you wish for (having the audience raise their lighters, etc). happened to dj am? the snowboarding accident was a little fall from grace..

  • @birddogfreemann did ztrip make a pact with the devil?

  • man now im all re-inspired to keep practicing

i was inspired before i saw this now im all in it now hahaha

  • i did a show with ztrip yo it was fun.. you can google that if you like

  • Wow, that's like the whole population of Long Beach!

Bedroom mentality. Yep, just have a great time yourself and people will feed off your energy!

I'd love a G-rated version of this interview for my YT TV...

  • Cool, I get stage fright bad. Excellent advice!!

  • thanks for the question about advice for kids, im happy my views are the same as the advice he gave and it definately makes me more calm about it and more willing to do it without thinking of the future

  • i posted z trip videos from LA natural history museum, he is sick man , good guy !!

  • "some people are good at making doughnuts."... lmao

  • Now I understand where he got that dope skill drumming on his Akai Drum pads at the show. Being a drummer in the past helps that a lot. Dude he like dropped the sickest quick drumm down on those pads durring a ambient moment in the record, I was soo amazed. He's a hell of a cool guy too. real down to earth.

  • Also 8:38 to 9:00. That is 100% truth. I fucking said those words almost exactly a few weeks before watching this :() Now I have a(nother) mancrush.

  • They're like the wise old masters up on a mountain... except its a tall building. Really cool stuff, there should be more interviews like this!!!

  • That Is Some Real Shit He Is Saying

  • Q-bert & Z-Trip. Could it get any better?

  • Invisibl Skratch Piklz is your answer, kidworm.

  • Z-tRip is Awesome and an old friend....he learned alot RARE GROOVE knowlegde and Drum & BASS from this guy DJ Essential (from Phx) back in the day!!!!

  • makin donauts haha double you tee eff

  • I think what they're both trying to say at the end is the thing thats been absent in the main stream hip hop world w/ djs & rappers alike...and that's doing it for the music. The love for the music & the dedication to the artform...before you had a guy comin up w/ his image savy crew, thats how djs came to be acknowledged as frontmen w/ no need for MCs. Do it for yourself, your love & the dedication to pushing the uninspired art we call hip hop today, further.

  • ztrip is a cool cat !

  • thanks for the vid :D

  • Good video, 5* johnathan
