  • RESPECT to our British para's at Arnhem....

  • Montgomery's failure in an otherwise glorious career showed how fatal ego can become. It also showed British penchant to put one over the Americans at bravery. Nevertheless, had it succeeded, the war would definitely have ended earlier. The misfortunes of the British para had an ominous message. Perhaps they should have brought the 101st and 82nd at Arnhem where the British 1st Airborne and the Poles were and swapped places. It'd take an American unit to do the task or the British SAS.

  • @bronorman001 Whats with Americans and thinking that they are soo amazing...Mate it was 2 Panzer divisions...and to be honest i find it offensive that you say such stuff...no wonder so many people hate americans....you only have to come on youtube to really start getting aggressive......We lost 7000 men at Arnhem.....Saying oh the american airborne would of won just angers me. Smarten yourself up. Para's don't die they regroup in hell. Every man an emperor.

  • polish gen.Stanisław Sosabowski R.I.P.

  • GO R.A.F

  • What is it with some of these UK and US comments on here. MY DAD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR DAD BULLSHIT? grow up you're all a bunch of arsholes. who do you think you are?

  • the storey i was given by my late uncal the ss took prisners who were never seen again ..he says 20 polish young lads he new from england were shot on site after surender fact ... tthat why later in the war many ss from the same units at arnham got their comupence troops dont forget .... and yes he did say ss at times after surender treat them ok even though history said ss killed most thats why our lads fort to the near end they new ss were killers of prisnors not all but most ..

  • @rokerlad49

Exactly! SS did slaughter many POWs from all nations. Only on freak occasions did they show 'humanity'.

Some had a fondness to Brits, but others massacred them- like in 1940; at Le Paradis and Wourmhoudt.

  • The Paratroopers are my favourite military force. Both the American and British Para's were elite soldiers in which the Germans couldn't match. Examples of their Bravery: The Red Devils stood til the end at Arnhem and The Screamin' Eagles fought against incredible odds at Bastogne.

  • And Easy company of the 101st airborne rescued hundreds of our para's at a later time. ether British, US or Polish they did a great job given the poor planning and intelligence and the fact there was only one main road for armoured units to move up through the country and the fact that 2 Crack SS Panzer divisions happened to be refitting in the area as well.

  • @itsandy88 WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE DELETE THIS ARSEHOLES COMMENTS

  • whether these men were well aware that one day people would think of them while calling them as heroes? certainly it was not important to them.

  • my grandfather was in arnhem, in the 1st British airborne he never once talked about what he went through there only that it was hell

  • @terminatorMATTO My uncle Dickie was there an all.He would never talk about it either.

He was taken off the first plane that he was going on because his mum was dying. How about that for compassionate leave.

He ended up going in with the Poles and eventually became a P.O.W.

this was all that we ever found out about his experience.

    He always changed the subject.

    God Bless Him.

  • Pay attention.. I am Canadian and of British heritage. Get over it already. The person who put up this video has mentioned my false step a long time ago. Let's move forward together friend.

  • Gee... sorry... i got the 6th and the 1st mixed up.. get a life

  • @willconq you yanks get a lot wrong ...try staying out of other peoples lives and country`s

  • we British we're left behind that day the Americans ran and left us. we held on to the death.

  • @fkinbrillant

the yanks didn't leave run off at all im British and getting sick of this crap we where all in the same boat the US 101st and 82nd airborne's objectives where south and British 30core (if im right) couldn't break through. market garden was a mixture of mistakes British intelligence failed to take evidence of German armour seriously and the new radio's for 1st para where not supplied with the right diamonds among many other things.

  • @itsandy88 ok cock sucker HOW MANY AMERICANS WERE IN THE ENGLISH 1st AIRBOURNE...?

THIS IS A TRIBUTE TO THE MEN OF THE 1st AIRBOURNE FOR HOLDING OUT AND HOLDING THE BRIDGE

MY GRANDFATHER WAS ONE OF THESE MEN

    ENGLISH MEN !!!!!!!!

  • @fuckystoat You have point. It was the 1st Airbourne which held Arnhem and the XXX Corps which had the armour. In fact the US airbourne units were mostly supplied by us.

  • @fuckystoat fair enougth your grandfather was in the first airborne!! but many americans died aswell... WE should have respect for ALL!! brave men fought and died on BOTH sides.... besides what the hell do we know we wer'nt there we have not experienced combat, we cannot judge others, we were not in the chaotic combat that was market garden! btw, US support signals team 306th fighter control, possibly american!

    ???

  • @mar1n35rth3b35t

you will appreciate this clip that mentions all involved at Arnhem-- including that American unit.

    watch?v=WgG0rBvBD74

  • @PanakaStigLitz much appreciated was just getting a point across all deserve recognition :)

  • @mar1n35rth3b35t

No problemo at all; I'm glad I could help to give specifics on your important point. Memories of soldiers who suffered in wars should not be forgotten by those who casually dismiss them in favour of propagating myths about who actually fought in wars. Same thing with African and Indian troops in WW2 getting no mention for their sacrifices fighting in all fronts in WW2 - same with women who fought as combatants, Partisans, and were spies, test pilots, munitions workers, etc etc

  • @itsandy88 JUST NOT ON THE SAME BRIDGE HEY FUCKNUCKLE IT WAS THE 1ST AIRBOURNE WHO STAYED TO HOLD BACK THE WAFFEN SS AND THE PANZER GRENADIERS SO EVERYONE ELSE COULD GET AWAY !!

IT SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME WHEN I SEE RELATIVES OF THE SS MEN THAT SPEAK WITH THE HIGHEST RESPECT FOR THE LITERALLY HANDFUL OF PARA`S THAT TOOK ON THE JOB OF COVERING THE RETREAT

AND WHEN THEY COULD NOT HOLD OUT ANY LONGER WE LEFT OUR WOUNDED FOR THE SS TO LOOK AFTER..IE THEY WERE NOT THE MONSTERS

  • @fuckystoat

    In fact;

In one instance an SS officer shot a Brit POW for demanding one of his confiscated items back.

On 2 other occasions I read about FROM British airborne soldiers there, one German opened fire on a line of POWs killing 2, and in the battle an SS machine gunner shot a Brit holding a white flag.

In the last 2 instances, an SS officer shot and killed those German soldiers on the spot.

    SS massacred Brit POWs in France, 1940;

around 100 at Le Paradis and 100 at Wormhoudt

  • @fuckystoat

You are a known neonazi troll on YT

You are a traitor for supporting Hitler's Nazis and wanting Nazis to win back then, and wanting neo nazis to 'win' nowadays. Pack your bags and go leave democracies.

  • @fkinbrillant

You didn't do anything. Stop taking credit for the sacrifices of far braver men then you.

And for your information, the Americans didn't 'run away' during Market Garden

  • song name?

  • you know something, althoug i love the 101 and 82, i have to said that the most gallant paratroopers in market garden were from the british first division, man how can you imagine to hold a bridge with 3 battallions ? against two ss panzer division and a panzergreanadiers battallion ( the rest of the division were in the outskirts of arnhem and osterbeek

  • My uncle won the MM at Arnhem. There is a good website Paradata where he recounts his story of Arnhem and Operation Husky. He wa in the 1st Bn The Border Regiment. There are some pictures of this regiment on this video.

  • We will remenber no very intteligent British Generals...

  • god bless the brits that waited for the reinforcements that never came, they fighted well.

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Great video absolutly amazing

    GOOD WORK *-*

  • rest in peace XXX corps they waited and waited

  • @BandOfBrothers25

i think it was the 1º brithish airbone that waited and waited

  • excellent . my grandfathers brother is burried at arnhem i am going to visit his grave in september with friends . i myself am ex airborne also respect to these brave men . ready for anything .

  • what is the title of this song?

  • My Grandfather witnessed the British Fallschirmjäger at Arnhem Bridge and that they where extremely brave fighters. Grüße und Salut.

  • @udoUpo it was at Arnheim the 1. Polish SBS.

  • The British 6th Airborne Division was to link up with 30 Corp after 48 hours. They held on for 11 days. This is the reason why all Airborne Forces today wear Red Caps for the "Red Devils".

  • Thanks for the comment but I must point out it was the 1st Airbourne Division not the 6th.

  • @willconq gimp get your facts right when your talking about my grandfather

  • Top notch mate

  • YES im the first one to comment lol
