this has to be one of my two favourite scenes. i sometimes wonder if it's just because of laura cazzaniga, because when i saw the ballet on stage for the first time and anna polikarpova played tadzios mother, it was beautiful as well, just not this intense.

i actually plan to write a term paper on this ballet, so for about four weeks now i tried to find a recording of it. today, i might have found one, but until then i'll just have to watch this video. *g*

I loved the book and the film, but the ballet beats both of them. It's amazing. Thank you Neumeier.

They showed it again on ARTE this morning - incredible! Neumeier is great with his ballet ideas and the dancers are amazing!
