  • Stop sliding and coming to much from the inside or rolling the hands over early. Loosen your arm tension and TURN the lower body harder to initiate the downswing. That will cure most hooks. (or take a weaker grip) This show is just band aids anyways. Don't know why I care.

  • that's going to turn into a slice in no time

  • class

  • I love the video

  • this is actually a good tip...my swing was moving into a massive hook from a draw...with this tip u may feel like ur going to put too much slice spin but ur not..like butch harmon said what u feel and what ur doing are 2 different things..i find i can still hit a draw on command with this drill w/o having to worry about hooking tha ball..remember with the drill u will only "feel" ur going across the target line..u wont actually do that...even michael breed wasn't doing that in the video

  • What a terrible tip. Generally speaking, Michael breed is a good teacher but this is not correct IMO. Most of the time the hook

Is caused from too strong of a grip or an over-release/deceleration right at impact. Outside to in is not the way to go again, IMO.

  • quack

  • wait, what?

i only hit hooks now because i fixed my slice by not cutting across the target line... which is what he's saying he should do.

  • Great Tip!....this helps me get back inside the plane too! Wish I had this tip years ago!

  • ohhh i see so i give up my nice draw for a fag fade?? wow great tip....

  • That's not how you correct a hook and hit it straight.. Coming across the ball only makes it spin clockwise and cut or slice to the right. I used to have that problem until I fixed my swing and stopped coming over the top/ coming across it.

  • typical golf teacher.. always overcorrecting, not fixing the real problem

  • that was uncalled for when want a player has a problem wether is taking the club to much to the inside in the takeaway it's good to exchange that habit with the exact opposite take the club more infront of you a la butch harmon so in order to fix a hook youa actually have to incoperate more of a fade swing so this is a pretty good tip.

  • i agree poor fix. hook to a slice.

  • he teaching how to slice with this tip WTF! Outside pressure on the ball = pussy

  • @GDBogardre that was uncalled for when want a player has a problem wether is taking the club to much to the inside in the takeaway it's good to exchange that habit with the exact opposite take the club more infront of you a la butch harmon so in order to fix a hook youa actually have to incoperate more of a fade swing so this is a pretty good tip. Understand that what do you do to fix a slice ? you learn the student to hit a draw

  • great tip

  • this is a great tip, now i can hit a pull hook thanks jackass!

  • @f0cusen check out my swing, i cant figure it out even at times my ball will start on line and still hook tremendously. ive checked my grip and everything too.

  • Funny title, WTF slice and fade? just close your stance and you'll draw the ball

  • WTF fix your hook by slicing it nice

  • @PlottRacing116 that was uncalled for when want a player has a problem wether is taking the club to much to the inside in the takeaway it's good to exchange that habit with the exact opposite take the club more infront of you a la butch harmon so in order to fix a hook youa actually have to incoperate more of a fade swing so this is a pretty good tip. • You can't fix a hook swing by teaching a slice swing! There is no cure except correct form.

  • @ansinkhh that was uncalled for when want a player has a problem wether is taking the club to much to the inside in the takeaway it's good to exchange that habit with the exact opposite take the club more infront of you a la butch harmon so in order to fix a hook youa actually have to incoperate more of a fade swing so this is a pretty good tip. When you have a problem with a hook or a slice and in order to fix it you just need to incoperate a slice or a hook swing do the opposite it works.

  • anyone else click on this video cause of the title

  • haha this title is SO funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes i used to have a slice but now have a hook, this might bring on a nice straight shot for a while but eventually cause a slice. I had a slice and doing this in reverse is what has caused me to develop my hook. So really you've just got to slow down your swing and aim on playing the club straight through the ball then gain speed as you progress.

  • @TheMxWatch put tees under your arms to help keep your arms connected to your body, a hook can often result from your arms coming off your body in the through swing causing a severe in to out swing path. Releasing the club, or flipping the club will just make you start to slice it.

  • what i found to help me was just to keep my hands and arms true to the target line as long as possible and not pull off of it

  • This is a horrible tip. He's teaching how to fade or slice. It's not a fix. Horrible tip.

  • @Bigsheesh Gotta agree with you here. I don't want to lose my draw when I'm hitting it right. The problem is snapping the club over to fast or a bad angle down on the ball.

  • @Bigsheesh If you dont hit hooks the same way he showed in the video, then you will get a slice. This just counteracts the spin that gets the hook and makes it go straighter. This is mostly just a temporary fix until you can straighten it out.

  • :52 would cause more of a slap or fade or weak ball flight. 1:33 I think you gave him a recipe for a slice that he may not be able to get rid of. Hook Fix- Check ALIGNMENT, Especially your feet. Then check SPINE ANGLE make sure it's constant throughout swing. At the top, focus on proper WEIGHT SHIFT while letting your arms and club DROP into the slot. Thats where the power is. Then release the club extending fully to the finish. After practice and patience, it will be easier to repeat.

  • This is a tip on how to slice/fade a ball not to cure a hook. Bad tip

  • nice title jackass

  • I only hook my irons, as a quick fix I turn my sholders later in my swing but I am working on it

  • help for hookers?? someone might want to change the title of this video. lol

  • @13skinsfan69 Oh, I guess im in the wrong place then...

  • @13skinsfan69 haha

  • australia doesnt have golf channel GRRRRRRR!!!!!

  • help me please i hav hook problems just with my irons i hav tried everything please help

  • email him and watch the golf channel

  • @oddbot65 I think what you are doing is that your body stops turning in the downswing and your hands get really active and you flip your hands you stay to much on the right leg and from there you flip your hands through impact or your hips are to active and you get stuck and from there you have to correct that with your hands and that can cause you to hit a hook. So try to minimize your hand motion through the ball. Hope this helps

  • @f0cusen Exactly! I've been fighting this tendency for a while now. Starting to have better luck. I say "stand taller and a little closer to the ball.
