Theo sự suy đoán của mình, rất có thể do Xuân Mai đã hát quá nhiều bài hát thiếu nhi nên chất giọng đã mang tính thiếu nhi hơn la thiếu nữ, tuy nhiên mình cũng thích giọng hát này, nó lạ nhưng hay, mong rằng Xuân Mai sẽ ngày càng tiến bộ

Xuân Mai hồi còn nhỏ hát rất hay đặc biệt là lúc 8 hay 9 tuổi gì đó. Lúc bấy giờ là đỉnh điểm của em, tiếng hát rõ ràng tròn trịa và trong sáng đầy kỹ thuật. Nhưng sau này khi lớn phong cách này không còn nữa, hát cứ eo éo eo éo không ra làm sao cả.
