Bad luck for Watson, his car started to run out of gas right in the middle of the very last lap allowing Andretti to pass. However the director was a fool: last lap just started, there is a close fight for the first place and what he does? He start to wander around randomly... missing the beginning of the overtaking maneuver. Just crazy!

@mellilore It's easy to forget just how bad some of the TV coverage used to be. Often the director used to focus only on the race leader regardless of any battling down the field or the quality of the picture was so bad you weren't always sure what was going on.

Watson might have had problems with fuel, but he went wide just as the camera cut away so I think Andretti was past anyway.
