Hi yes you can use the SB600 in wireless mode but you will need a SU800 commander or SB900 as master since the SB600 works as remote flash in wireless mode also the SU800 is a lot less expensive and lighter than the SB900
Could you post some example photos taken with your SB-600. I need to buy a flash unit but not sure if I need a stronger one ( SB-800 perhaps ) when doing weddings in dimly lit churches. Thanks in advance for any reply.
that is hard to say but there many good diffusers out there like the ones sold by lumiquest and Gray Fong or you can your own diffusers with translusint fabric
I am not really what type of plastic did Nikon used to manufacturing the SB600. And yes u can use the SB600 in the rain you just have to cover it with a large zip lock bag to keep the water out. to hold the zip lock bag to the flash use a rubber band

ive used it for weddings but get two or three of them and a shit load of batterys. Get a strofen difusser with it also
