I actuslly like the blue. It reminds me of a few action movies I have seen in the past. It would be better filmed on 50 or 60fps for sharpness. Good tutorial. It seems everyone says to use the colour curve, but beyond that everyone has different techniques. Some say colour corrector, some say gradient, some say colour balance. As far as I can tell, they all do the same thing if used correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong lol.
I have researched 'film look' over and over but I've just got the best results so far thanks to your tutorial. I've pushed and pulled colours and various filters in the past but everything I did just seemed to blow out skin tone which is unreal. However, that doesn't seem to happen with this technique unless you go too wild. Have watched loads of tutorials but none have mentioned Gradient Map and I think it's the answer for me. Many thanks for the insight.
Great tutorial! Just one question. What are your rendering settings when getting the best quality video on youtube? I have Sony Vegas Media Pro 9. I would really like to know. Thanks in advance. By the way, I shoot in 1080p with Sony CX-100.
Normaly in the time line if you add a clip you can see images on the time line. well for some reason i did something to make the images go away but the boxes are still there. I can still play the videos in S/V easily but i would like to know how to restore the images on the time line. AT the moment my time line is filled with white boxes. o:<
I dunno it seems a little blueish, I kinda like the before more lol. I tend to colour correct more towards yellow in my videos, it makes it looks more like a blockbuster movie. Your colour correcting makes it look like a cop movie, (Phone Booth, Training day, The fugitive, etc)
I actually think thats even better than the other one, yeah. I do think that the one that you showed looks juuuussst a little colorless, but only just a bit. It actually looks like a professional movie; definately gonna use this in the future :)
This vid helped a lot thanx :)
