It's interesting the lies and disinformation in the video. For example, she mentions Prop 98 as one of the initiatives that severely limits their flexibility to finance the state. Except that Prop 98 can be suspended, and with support of the Governor, this can be achieved if Dems go along with it. That would significantly improve the legislature's ability to balance the books. If only she had the will.
All she does in complain. No solutions are offered. Typical politician.
CA was the highest taxed state in the union before this year 2009 when it raised taxes...and now we are the HIGHEST HIGHEST taxed people in the union. Add that to what we will be paying with the new federal leaders expenditures, and watch the people of this country become serfs who support an out of control government.
or how about taxing more of those who are of the Corporate Elite. Please try this simulation, Hidden Agenda on Abandonia. Its called a net, i am not a deadbeat my parents are simply poor.
The 2/3 vote is the best thing to have it keeps food on my table roof over my head. if it wasnt there more people would leave the state except the deadbeats who need free money from the thiefing government.
Want to fix your problem, dont allow spending to lock a portion without a non-taxing revenue. Education dosnt get any money it all goes to teachers who 80% of them dont give a crap about kids. (personal exp)
triva question: what was the states tax from 1846 to 1913?

all they are trying to do is get bills through easier so they can pass their damagingagenda through. They really should be ashamed of themselves. What is this country coming to. At least I am not in Calfornia
Um, which private schools would those be? Not, you know, the ones that actually exist. According to the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the median tuition for their member private day schools in 2005-2006 in the United States was close to $14,000 for grades 1 to 3, $15,000 for grades 6 to 8 and $16,600 for grades 9 to 12.
Parochial schools generally charge less. According to the National Catholic Educational Association, in their annual statistical report in 2005-2006, the average elementary school tuition for Catholic schools (in 2005) was $2,607; the average freshman tuition (for 2002-2003) was $5,870. Catholic Schools enroll more students (49%) than any other segment of private schools.
My daughter went away to college. I gave her a credit card to use. I think people can guess what happened. The same thing is what has happened with the Calif. budget.
Evans is distorting the truth here. In myth 1 she says that only $15B is excess funding. Yes, but the point is that this "Excess funding" has been spent year after year for over a decade. $15B in 2009 + 14.8B in 2008 + 14.5B in 2007...If we had saved instead of spent that money, we'd be sitting on a surplus right now.
A lot of people outside of California have watched the propositions being voted upon and wonder how you guys manage to keep things together. It is particularly difficult with R's don't seem to have any sense of civic duties or responsibilities, or the basic idea that if you buy something you need to pay for it. What you see is Republican credit card budgeting and big spending.

we also spend k-12 about 9000 per year
we could per our kids in private school for 5000 to 6000 per year billions saved right there.

This whole video is a myth. Just take a look at state budget online.
also look what we spend on per inmate in CA 50,000 per when most states that are still doing ok are spending 15,000 per

Wow, astonishing! (or not really) Not a peep about illegals costing the state about 10 BILLION a year in free social services etc.
Bring back prop 187, which the voters passed by 60% to eliminate illegal alien freebies.

how come she doesn't talk about the illegal aliens that are sucking our state dry!!!!
