@draxdagreat im not sure how to explain is cuz im a 14 year old boy, but anamorphic lenses are lenses that look professional and gove black boarders at the top and bottom making a 2x squeeze (2:35:1 ratio) they also create a vertical bokeh, in other words everything thats blurry becomes an oval type shape, and lastly the lens flare (light glare) its a horazontal streak because of the type of glass used to make the lens! thats all i know of anamorphic, hope it helps
nice. your previous video and this are really helpful. please can you let me know, if you watched the unedited clips straight out of your camera, would they be stretched/warped vertically?
if the raw footage out of the camera is stretched, do you then squeeze the image in software to make it undistorted?
also, when framing the shot on your camera lcd viewfinder, does the image look stretched?
Wow no letterboxing aswell. It's a 2x lens so the 16:9 frame becomes 32:9 or 3.5:1. I'd recommend cropping the sides off to get rid of the vinette and giving it a 2.5:1 or 2.35:1 frame. It's entirely astistic choice however, but for digital presentation a 3.5:1 frame is too narrow and unpleasing on 16:9 monitors (for most people anyway).
Also with dSLR and anamorphic lenses be sure to use an f stop of f2.8 or smaller. Any larger and the image is too soft and lacks any sharpness.
@diby1 Most of these were shot at 2.8 - 5.6 focus is quite a challenge though with this one since you need to focus both lenses. I have a step down for my new 50mm 1.4 EF lens so will be shooting very soon with that one. I'm thinking about adjusting the picture 1920 x 720 so people get lessl letterboxing although the 540 width is so amazing in my eyes.
Is the the Bell & Howell from Kowa, or the longer Bell & Howell 16mm f/1.4 lens (Filmorama) which was designed for the military? I would really appreciate if you can clarify which one it is.

@MalfunctioningHuman actually i have no clue the lens itself has no information what so ever on it's outsides. I can show you pictures but it looks so much like a sankor 16D type lens.
what music is it?

Well, not as beautifull as with soviet anamorphic lenses, but good.

Just as a little tip, use less letterboxes. It covers too much of the screen right now.
