  • I know Marty and this woman is a wonderful person who is diagnosed with autism. Keep your negative comments to yourself. You obviously are ignorant to autism.

  • Awesome video - I myself have a form of (as society calls it) Autism and it was great to see your courage in talking to all those people about who you are. I'm becoming increasingly passionate about helping people understand what it's all about too. Thank You for your inspiration!!

  • Believe it or not, Autism is Spiritual. Individuals labelled as having Autism is just a way for society to understand what's really going on. Individuals with 'Autism' are born with 'whole brain' functioning - they experience everything in extremes, this is why they have been labelled as having 'social disability' - it's only because a social situation is too much for them to be in when they aren't living their life through a purpose - which is what this woman is doing.

  • Excellent video. I'm looking forward to the movie, and the rest of these previews. Marty is perfect for the role. There are starting to be a few more movies about adults with AS. This is the best and most realistic I'm aware of to date. Chris.

  • Thank you for your video! i like it.

  • This was a really good video... I plan on watching more of your work.. keep it up!

  • Thank you for this video... I can't wait to see Normal Folk. It is a personal goal of mine to spread autism awareness, especially in schools. Marty is such an inspiration! Thanks again.

  • Now I don't mean to be all PC in that last post on you so much as to point out that teaching has shown those with autism can learn & demanding more is better than lowering standards & MR just has the connotation of a never changing set point like an I.Q., but the fact is that success is always possible even if always handicapped.

I.Q. is just potential or learning rate, but if learning then that is key. Handicapped just means you need more help or more time, but MR seems to again imply more.

  • You don't say 'MR' you say 'MH' but this video is very good at pointing out how schedules of reinforcement can always change things.

Just because a person has left their own country or pursued higher education does not mean that you will continue to seek out social interaction unless environments, supports, and schedules of reinforcement evoke behaviors that have been learned.

Obviously, to learn it can be different for a spectrum disorder.

  • Thanks everyone for the flood of kind and inspiring words! You know, making a movie takes a long time and when you feel you've lost the wind in your sails, suddenly great motivating people like you guys write and put me back in the driver seat. Thank you so much!

  • Hi there, I love Marty!!!! She is an inspiration to me. I have two boys on the autistic spectrum and she gives me hope. Who better to play this role!!! I look forward to seeing the film when it comes out. Hugs Denise

  • Hey everyone. posting to my videos is a privilege. If you're enjoy writing hurtful comments about others then take it elsewhere. Thanks for all the positive comments here and anywhere you may post on YouTube.

  • I also love Marty!!!! Who better to play the role? The film gives me hope for my two boys on the autistic spectrum. I am looking forward to seeing the film!!!! hugs Denise

  • I have two friends that each have a child with autism and I think there is a lot of misunderstanding regarding it. This is a great subject and a way to help the world understand what it is really all about. Good for you Graham for tackling such an important topic.

  • God bless you for bring attention to this topic.

  • There are those of us who are very happy to see this film being made, I'm so tired of people who are in the general population dismissing my child as if he is a burden to them, to me he's represents another world not yet heard from. I hope this raises awareness so they have their place in this world with love and respect. I can't thankyou enough for posting this.

  • I can relate to the mother, Jacquie Mace, in this film with the twins. With one regressing into autism - much like our situation. It was the worst day of our lives after our dr admitted that: ..."He has Autism." (pauses) and quickly adds "Oh but not FULL blown Autism" (as if that was supposed to comfort us) We'll never forget that date of Aug 13 2007 for as long as we live.

And Marty is truly an inspiration in this film.

Thank you for sharing these episodes.

  • Thanks so much for the response on the video. Kind people like you are the ones who inspire and encourage us to keep doing projects, even it if helps just one person.

As you probably know, I am a film director gearing up for my next feature which deals with adult autism. I have chosen a woman who has autism to play one of the key leading roles in the film. Needless to say, many different opinions floating around as a result.

  • Great video, thankyou so much for posting

  • I love Marty, I hope she sees this

her story and her sharing story will help so many

and not just people with Autism but people who are struggleing with other disorders

  • This must have been a big challenge for not only Marty but the other actors and Graham.

Great video's, looking forward to seeing Normal Folk.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi,

I have autism and Im married. Yes married. I think it's great, your videos. It really shows people that anyone with autism can grow given the right tools and person to coach them and help them.I fight myself I fight others in my mind that I can and I will grow even if it takes me longer and that nobody can stop me. Thanks for making those videos.

  • Not only show people with Autism can grow but people with any type of disorder can

  • Pure love and inspiration, permission to never ever ever give up! When I feel a dark feeling sneaking near, I watch this for some light to shine in on us.

  • Nice video

  • Thank you for sending me this video. Sometimes I wish I could just scoop all the autistic kids in the world and keep them safe, but I can only scoop one-Mine. What a beautiful video!
