  • 20alphabet why dont yu tell us wot itz like to be a bear? yur as retarded as the man dat tried livin wiv bears

  • I'T NOT WHAT HE DIED FOR THAT MATTERS, IT'S HOW HE DIED!!!! damn, earth calling... he got eaten by a damn bear!!! shit, stop ating like it's all beatifull, this is tragic

  • whereas his girlfriend not so much. And it's possible his girlfriend didn't know how to react. She may have freaked out and startled the bear which is often the case for most bear attacks. If a bear attacks almost 98% of the time its for it's own protection, It feels threatened or is defending it's territory. The possibility of it consciously hunting a human is usually an act of desperation. Perhaps it's staple diet is low and the bear is beyond starving.

  • This bear was obviously on the verge of starving, or felt threatened. Predatory animals don't just eat whatever they want. Not something that is not normal to their diet unless they are desperate. If anything the fact he brought his girlfriend who was not familiar with bears, and obviously displayed fear and unease enabled the attacking bear to sense those emotions. Animals are far more intuned with senses than we are. Why did they not attack Tim 13 years earlier? He gained their trust

  • Sometimes a person comes to a realization as to what their calling is. Wild animals indeed need our protection because they are the victims of so called "normal" human beings as they go on their daily lives taking everything for granted. Yes a bear took this man's life. But I think the point is how many lives do humans take? How many species have to be destroyed by our greed and neglect? People are so ignorant of the capabilities of large powerful animals. They see one and are terrorized by it.

  • if this idiot had lived, he would have been an occupy wall street protester.

  • @scarabmango your own government is doing that, or you will tell me that the 9/11 was Bin Ladden fault? Lmao

  • They really made a movie out of this? lmao.

  • "STOP CALLING ME MR. CHOCOLATE!!!"

  • He loves them bears. Doesn't he?

  • He's Chris Crocker!

  • @mitreswell go fuck yourself

  • Oscar Wilde once wrote that you destroy the thing you love and that which you love, will destroy you in the end.

and he died for something that he loved, theres no better reason to die!

  • I think this fuckhead might have actually been crazy enough to eventually pull some bombing on a government building, or a similar act. Probably best he's dead.

  • The funny thing is bears don't need protecting.

  • There is a fantastic interview in the film with one of the helicopter pilots wich basically sums up Treadwell delusion perfectly. Mistaking a wild animal as a potential friend...in other words, treating them as humans, will get you eaten!

This is nature, baby. Not some fucking animal shelter were you pick a cute little kitten to bond with.

I have absolutely no respect for this lunatic.

  • Supposedly it took him 7 minutes to die while he was being eaten

  • After reading most of the comments here:

I don't want to live on this planet anymore

  • you are the poster child for why wild animals should be left alone in their habitat.

  • It's not a child, it's a fucking bear. You deserve what you got.

  • @amayagab

Stfu and go back to work and pay your taxes, dumbass.

  • @EriK8520 I do all those things. Is that a bad thing?

  • @amayagab

Depends, but you seem like a good slave for the system.

  • @EriK8520 I'm self employed.

  • @amayagab Hmm, another reason why stereotypes suck.

  • @EriK8520 What does that mean?

  • This guy got ripped up by those bears because he` thick as dog shit....

  • He was obviously a repressed homosexual. I am surprised the filmmaker didn't touch on this issue when he was exploring Treadwell's demons.

  • @mrkeeaumoku

I don't think filmmaker is so closeminded like you.

  • @EriK8520

I don't see why you think that was closed minded of me to say? The filmmaker never touched on the the obvious. IMO this could have been the real source of his problems as he was trying to be something he wasn't, Treadwell was a blatant homesexual to anyone that observed his behavior. The filmmaker wanted to explore his demons but never wanted to explore the obvious.

  • @mrkeeaumoku

Hmm, upon further investigation, I have to say that you have a point on this one, sir.

  • It is said that he was close to getting the part in cheers of the young barman to Ted Danson's Sam Malone. Unfortunately Woody Harelson pipped him at the post and he never recovered from the rejection. He then went on to call himself Timothy Treadwell ( that's not his real name) and live with the bears. Fact is he had an ego bigger than Mr Chocolate.

  • I think he took the show "Grizzly Adams," a bit too seriously.

  • man thats a bitch, getting killed by the thing your trying to protect, rip dude, i want to see this doc

  • song at 1:30 PLEEAAASSEEEEE !!!!

  • @maxonfire67 more than enough examples

dolphins, wolves, primates, even lions and bears are capable of showing friendly behavior toward humans

  • @motormonkeyNL Well yes, but I'm not sure that would apply to say Grizzlys and Polar Bears in the wild. There is such a thing as trying to anthromorphise a dangerous predator as Treadwell found out the hard way.

  • someone claimed that this movie was a hoax and not true.

  • In a nutshell, please dont play with brown bears you will die like Tim there.Furthermore the LORD protects his creation not timothy.Regarding poachers we have fish&game.Timothy had no business thinking he was protecting grizzlys or being there for that matter.

  • @johnsauvola Lol, you funny man, you funny. All that "LORD" and shit, hahahaha, cracks me up every time xD

  • am i the only one who thought this guy was fucking phyco?

  • @BalaamComedy batshit crazy

  • @kodatastical its a great film, and one the funniest movies i've ever seen

  • i want to watch this so bad, but i don't think i can handle it.

  • This guy was so freaking gay!!!

  • They called him the super furry.

  • Native Americans have said that being eaten by a bear is one of the worst deaths a person can have. The bear pins you down, and eats your ass and legs first because the tissue is softest there, and is oblivious to your screams. It can take up to an hour before you die from being eaten alive.

  • this guy was was crazy simple as

  • What a dude!

  • You can respect the strength and power of a bear and even think it is beautiful. By respect, I mean to be aware that it is a wild animal, unpredictable, stronger and only acts on instinct with no moral sense of right or wrong, good or evil, love or hate. You cannot make a wild animal love you. Don't mistake love as an interest in how you smell or taste.

  • He is gay and he reminds me polish pseudoartist gracjan roztocki

  • I admire this man's love and determination to help animals. Yes his style was a unorthadox, and yes he did take it to extreme lengths. But you just gotta understand this is what he loved. and love makes you do extreme things as cliched as that may sound.

  • He was hanging around the wrong type of Bear. I think he was looking for a hairy gay man to hibernate in his man cave.

  • No one cared until he died. Its like art, your bigger when your dead.

  • Is this on netflix? Someone answer please

  • @Necrohz yes

  • I just watched this documentary and I found treadwell to be a very interesting emotional and loving man. Not sure why folks are so quick to judge him if you actually take time to watch the doc before making a snap judgement about him you could see why he becomes so close to the animals. It is sad to me to see so many people badmouthing him when there are so many evil people and things going on in the world. Some of his footage is the best I've seen.

  • How was he protecting the bears?

  • I'm certain the animals have become aware of what they did and are sorry for it. Undoubtedly they have dealt with the offending beast with their own judicial process and are now trying to find closure. Dredging this unfortunate incident up discourages any progress the Grizzly community is making toward becoming more docile and ultimately achieving voting rights and drivers licenses. You people don't know what it's like to be a bear and you never will, so I suggest you reserve judgement.

  • Herzog should have narrated this trailer.

  • You know, there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving nature. In fact, I'd say it's a beautiful feeling. But nature must also be respected. I'm afraid that Timothy Treadwell did not have that respect. He talked like the animals were a part of his family, but the sad fact is that they weren't. They were wild animals that posed a constant threat to Treadwell's life. Treadwell did not recognize nor respect that, and that is why he was killed and eaten by the very thing he loved most.

  • i really want to hear the death audio, it would be sweet

  • I just saw this documentary and the only thing I can say is: This guy was so fucking nuts, and when I say nuts I mean he suffered some kind of psychological desorder.

  • @craKeNS - Yeah I'd imagine he's done a fair amount of drugs.

  • @craKeNS

Tim probably suffered from manic depression, and in his own mind believed that the bears actually wanted to have him around. He should've respected their space. If you really want to help animals, you start by leaving them alone. They merely tolerated his presence up until the day one of them realized that he and his girlfriend would make an easy meal.

  • Has society really driven us to such madness?

  • I Admire this man, first because he had the guts to do what he felt was right, God gave the human being the power over this earth , but it was to protect the other living beings, not to decide who goes and who stays, the people who criticize this man are pathetic, sure you can sit behind a chair, watch this movie and say, he is crazy, but what have you been doing for the earth, your probably living a live you didnt want to, taking orders from someone you loathe, and be just that a lackey.

  • It was his choise alone. He never said he was gonna survive. He wanted this, because the human world wasn't made for him. He lived the life he wanted and died doing that, and that's why I respect him. The majority of us will die one day after like 70 years of working in jobs that we hate.

  • @182Clumsy182 "He lived the life he wanted and died doing that, and that's why I respect him." that would be a lovely line if he hadn't caused the death of his girlfriend (who apparently didnt want to be around the bears but fine she was the one who did decide to stay there despite what her instincts were telling her) and 2 of the bears who were just trying to survive in whatever way they could

  • @182Clumsy182 But the bear betrayed him...I bet it was mr. chocolate

  • i can't stand when people say his story was "a tragedy". here was a delusional, possibly mentally ill man who had no real knowledge of these animals invading their space. it was inevitable that he would get killed. the only sad part is that he got someone else killed because of his lunacy.

  • @RottenAppleSeeds Agreed. I feel bad for the girl...sigh. In her diary she said she didn't like being there. I bet she was only there because he loved the guy =S

  • @RottenAppleSeeds Possibly mentally ill? The guy was bat shit crazy.

  • Film by Arnold Shwarzenegger,

  • I'd like to see a documentary about an animal wanting to be friends with a human

  • @maxonfire67 Saving LUNA !

  • @maxonfire67 Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan (1984) Great Flick, though not a Doc.

  • @maxonfire67 There are plenty of those; they're called domesticated animals.

  • @maxonfire67 lol

  • @maxonfire67 the best one out there is called,"My elephant ,My love"

its rated r but will make you cry.

    it got the PETA award!

  • @maxonfire67

Then look for videos about wolves and how they became dogs.

  • @maxonfire67 Watch Lassie

  • Ask any native American about wild animals and they will tell to,to respect them is to stay away from them. This guy DID NOT respect them at all,and he got what was coming to him! As hard as that is to say,it's the truth.Don't mess with wild animals!!!

  • I dont blame his aims, but his behavoir was ignorant. He did not accept bears as what they are - predators.

  • Comment removed

  • hehe this is like a scene from south park or somthing

  • Timothy Treadwell was knowingly stepping into land that the bears had rule over. He knew he could be mauled and eaten. Still, he thought that through being friendly and showing them he is their equal, he would co-habitat with the bears. He did this for 13 years. He forgot the one very important law of nature. Eat or be eaten. Timothy, your intentions were good, and for that, I commend you.

  • Dumb retards that says he is gay watch the movie before you talk dumb idiots and grow the fu.. up

  • Why is everybody saying he's gay? He had a gf that was eaten by the same bear.

  • I mean.. He's like Andy Dick but with bears instead of drugs and alcohol..

  • what a nutty guy...

  • I agree with Rogan, suicide by bears because the dude couldnt deal with being a gay man.

  • protecting the animals, and feeding them, also proving natural selection.

  • Gay dudes are always into bears.

  • won't see him no more.

  • show some respect fuckers. at least he died doing something he loved and was passionate about. he did more than most of you will ever do. i also find it redundant for people who don't like animals to pass judgment on someone like him who truly loved animals. you are not on the same level of knowledge as him. he thought of these animals differently, respect that. he was lucky enough to become passionate about animals, unfortunately most of the human race has not reached that level.

  • he looked down bears and the nature. but he didn't recognize that.

  • white people get killed all the time by being stupid, wild animals say,we dont want you,we hate you,so get a clue

  • @KYMAMI and that goes for every white man in the world? or are you just generalizing because you met one stupid white man.

  • @blixensd nope, just this stupid dude i guess,i should of clarified myself, but whites do it all the time, dont they,i mean stereotype?

  • @KYMAMI I think you find stupid people on every site(Color/race-wise), black, yellow, white, ??

  • It's an easy fix. Throw in a Eddie Vedder soundtrack for good measure.

  • I watched this movie. This guy was nuts. Crazy! He got what his closet case ass had coming.

  • Does a 9ft tall brown bear need to be protected by a 6ft tall white dude?

  • How much you wanna bet he's gay?

  • Hey how about we give a dead man some more shit for getting killed doing something he was fully aware you could get killed doing but chose to do anyway because it was the life he wanted to live

I mean it's not like he paid any kind of price for his actions right

  • @Coldwarmusic said:

Hey how about we give a dead man some more shit for getting killed doing something he was fully aware you could get killed doing but chose to do anyway because it was the life he wanted to live

I mean it's not like he paid any kind of price for his actions right

I sez: Sure, why not? My friend OD'd on smack and dropped dead. I still curse his stupid hide for it. Don't be so sensitive.

  • @countregula1 Wow, you're quite the compassionate human being.

  • @countregula1 He didn't have to drag his girlfriend along too and get her killed as well.

  • @fractalheadache

Odds are, the girlfriend asked / begged to come along. In fact, I think that was specifically stated in the movie. She knew the risks, she wanted to go anyway, end of story.

  • @MsbacktoNYC I remember from the film it was said that she was scared of bears, the guy was a delusional freak, "saving" bears that were high in population, got himself killed plus an innocent girl, end of story.

  • @MsbacktoNYC She was actually afraid of bears.

  • @aliceonatrain ans do? She was over the age of 20, she had her own brain, no one forcibly took her there. SHE decided to go, and so she went. She wasn't an idiot, I'm sure she was aware of the dangers involved. It's like excusing someone for drinking while driving because their boyfriend told them to do it.

  • @countregula1

Your friend overdosed on drugs; he did nothing for society while doing that. While it was stupid of him, it was his choice.

Timothy was willingly giving his life to protect bears from poachers. You don't call soldiers idiots for dying to protect their country, do you? Or how about the astronauts who died trying to go to the moon? ALL of these examples are people who actually tried to do something for this world.

  • he did it for 13 years, although I do find treadwell incredibly naive and downright stupid, he wasn't a bad guy and it's him that died, not you so give the guy some peace.

  • this is whats gonna happen, when a gay townsman wanna watch bears in the wild...

---> isnt it obvious whats gonna happen???

    what was he thinking??

sniffing to much coke AND going to "care bears wonderland" = BAD idea

  • Doesn't bear = old gay guy

  • @Sheenious

Any gay dude that's big and hairy, not necessarily old. Funny to think of homeboy's use of the word "bear" in that context :) Regardless... I remember when this came out. Never saw it. After watching trailer- holy crap. Poor guy's a tad bonkers. I'll see it eventually.

  • "In Nature. There. Are. Boundaries"... Well, not so much in Human Stupidity. Farewell, Timothy. Tell Christopher Johnson McCandless the Bear says "Hi"

  • When you want to protect something, you first have to know how to protect yourself.

  • He's a big bear, he's a very big bear! wow!! *starts fapping*

  • I figured out an equation to this loneliness+quiting drugs+paranioa=timothy treadwell. Thats just him awesome movie very heart felt.

  • Fag or straight, gotta say that the man has some serious balls! To tape them big-ass bears like the way he did, was just plain impressive.

  • a MUCH better documentary than "Grizzly Man" that does not intentionally antagonize grizzly bears is the documentary "Edge of Eden: Living with Grizzlies". It tells the story of a Canadian conservationist, Charlie Russell, who tries to reintroduce orphaned grizzly cubs back into the wild by acting as their surrogate mother in Kamchatka, and proves the common perception of grizzlies to be wrong.

google the name + Culture Unplugged for full documentary for free!

  • This was a kickass film. Too bad the dudes dead. RIP

  • American Indians saw wilderness as spirits. Watching this movie I see that Timothy was a lot closer to his spirit then most people. His documentary of bears to the demise of his death is an unspoken raw reality that the world posses everywhere within it's own nature. His death is the human understanding of nature that is lost, even humanity losing touch in compassion with ourselves.

  • @JustBme87 Natives also didn't mock Grizzly Bears by talking to them in a baby voice and giving them ridiculous names like "Mr. Chocolate." Or walking up to them and trying to pet them and if they came too close, throwing punches at them. They had a true respect for them, which was leaving them the hell alone. This guy wasn't in touch with anything. In fact, he was completely out of touch with reality.

  • @beantownkid38 yes but the photographers that he captured on film first beckem the bears to come to them then throws a rock at the bear as it comes to them. I feel he had more respect then society does overall. Even a park ranger has a page about how he literally change his behavior like the bears. At least he had enough respect to acknowledge a way to capture their graceful nature by noticing ways for bears to understand him. He was closer to reality he saw both sides human world n wilderness.

  • @beantownkid38 it's very easy to say he was out of touch with reality when he goes into a reality that is consider not normal for a human to venture. Every1 is quick to dimiss what the overall reality he capture bc his death was harsh n bc he wasn't a notable scientist to be respected like Jane Goodall (I'm not making a comparison noting the difference. Question why he wasn't in touch with himself to know this persuit was what he value most. Imagine he knew this was his yearning from the start.

  • @beantownkid38 sorry for the long reply but I feel i must really be clear. The name calling etc. appeals to a general mass media public he was connected to in the way it distracted him from his true calling. As you see in the movie from his childhood. If he persue the science behavior of wild animals. Many are persuing the mass media distraction over their true calling society is disconnected w itself. Just like the way of words for those that were here before us American Indians/Natives

  • @JustBme87 Not being an asshole, but that last comment wasn't too coherent. Pretty sure this dude just wanted fame. He got it... at a cost, though. The guy was a moron.

  • Wow, that guy was a freaking idiot.

  • What he really wanted and needed a pet and a reality show. He got an innocent woman killed pretending he was an expert but never bothered or respected the bears enough to learn the difference between a grizzly and a brown bear.

  • Say what you want, the guy lived and died for something he loved, something any man should be proud of.

  • Timothy: I will die for those animals

    Bear: Challange accepted

  • The song at the end is called "Coyotes" by Don Edwards.

  • "come on and try to do what i do you will die you will die here" lol and yeah you did die asshole.

  • 67Crazyboyz, I think Ron White said the same thing! And for the record, I agree with you both!

  • Bears should only be admired and observed from afar....and i mean VERY far away.

  • Tim something or other, the nut-job who got eaten by the bears he loved!

  • Treadwell - A la carte .

  • Comment removed

  • Hello bears, I love you...

    Omm Nomm Nomm

Hey Tim... OUT OF THE GENE POOL!

  • @TEZZLE27 lol, he actually does resemble Andy dick, a bit.

  • No disrespect to the guy and his Girlfriend who died durring the production of this movie but I thought that this was the most funniest movie ever. Like at one point in the movie the dude said bears have the capacity for not only intellect but sympathy towards humans and other species. Then one of them eats him. Funniest Film I have ever seen Watch it if you haven't folks funny as hell.

  • son of a bitch got what he deserved

  • whats the song in the end?

  • Is it just me or does this guy remind you of Andy Dick?

  • @TEZZLE27 who is Andy Dick?

  • Elk Head- 'Grizzly Man'

  • lol. Darwin. that's all I have to say about that.

  • he's totally nuts, it's like watching diary of a psychopath

  • The movie is great but the trailer is dull and misleading.

  • What are you talking about? Andy Dick isn't dead...

  • TWAT WARRIOR

  • RIP Timothy... :(

  • gay guy trying to be a man he is not

  • I guess u gotta stand for somn but fuck that!Aint no way a grizzlies usin me as a toothpick..

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT GRIZZLY MAN BECAUSE OF RON WHITE

  • Did anybody else think this was a fake documentary at first? I thought "This fucking guy can't be for real".

  • A former major jackass, now bear shit. I wish every single eco-freak would emulate his stupidity.

  • This man really lived. Look at your lives and ask yourself is that what you want?

Treadwell died but he died how he wanted, and that's how he lived.

  • @OldStag72 Dont be silly, he didnt want to die that way. He was an idiot.

  • @OldStag72 Go and join him, dumbass. The only person to die in Alaska who was a bigger jackass was the moran who starved to death at that abandoned bus in the interior. LOL. Hopefully, neither one of them reproduced before winning their Darwin Award.

  • @56Edify died alone because he ate a poisnius berry....

  • He was crazy.......He did more harm to the bears then help .

What they did was get used to him, This was a bear he probleley did'nt know.

I believe maybe on that day food was scarce and the bear was hungry.

  • @TheSurfPunks nah, therapist and psychiatrist say that after getting off a heroin addiction he wasnt mentally fit yet, and that isolation from society didnt help

  • @killmonkeyshines1 no, all this footage was for research and the reason he did all this stuff was because he was dillusional. The movie was thought of til after he was mauled to death and eaten by these bears.

  • grizzly man sounds awesome and then it's just a gay guy having fun with bears..
