It wasnt 1600 but 1300 years. Luckily for Bulgaria, Communism was just 45 years of a failed experiment. But, tragically for those affected by Communism, it lasted too long, the price was enormous: submission to a foreign power, barbarism from Moscow, destruction of the countrys elite. Dignity survived though. The Bulgarian people have now made their choice: with the EU and NATO.

Worth preserving it for history. Schools will study this example of a primitive language, hardly worth of a leader.

The USA didn't destroy the mausoleum - it was the mayor of Sofia at the time - Stefan Sofianski, who initiated its destruction. Sofianski was elected once more after the mausoleum was destroyed, so Sofians agreed with him, they agreed with the destruction of the communist symbol!
