  • Whos ehre cause The Hobbit was a great movie, and not cause of the tale of a rat that was inserted into a mans anus.

  • AAAAHHH!!! I KNOW THAT SWORD!!!! It is called Glamdring the Foe Hammer!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!

  • Oh my God this song is amazing! I loved it as a kid and I still love it now.

  • WHO ARE THESE MISERABLE PERSONS?!?!?!?!

I've always loved these Goblin songs from the film, thanks for uploading!

  • @gamephreak5 It is indeed Thuryl Ravenscroft.

  • It's been a while since I've watched South Park, so could somebody tell me what's with all the references to it in the comments? I'm assuming they did some sort of parody of this, but I'm curious to hear the details.

  • @WatermelonRat

They had a bit about a mouse with a magic frog talking to it, and would sing a version of this song with different lyrics

  • @WatermelonRat The song was played during an episode with the lyrics changed to reflect the epic duel between an evil gossiping rat and a heroic one recently escaped from the sphincter of a teacher's kinky partner. The songs "Frodo of the Nine Fingers" and "The Greatest Adventure" were also referenced.

  • Great song, love that Apathy sampled this shit.

  • Faster driver, the final battle is about to begin

  • in all seriousness tho, the little loops around 0:26 and 1:05 are just awesome.

  • badass song

  • "Dwarves have a strange notion of perfection".

  • Creepiest song I've ever heard

  • I knew it! I knew South Park used this song for Bass to Mouth. I couldn't stop laughing!

  • Run, Run, the battle's on, Lemmiwinks, Wikileaks, run, run, the battle's on, Go, Lemmiwinks, Stop Wikileaks.

South Park parodying the Hobbit. Lemmiwinks and Bilbo Baggins. Catatafish is Gollum (riddles). Frog King is Ganandorf? Sparrow Prince, I don't know. Maybe the Elf.

  • @MusaMansu

Ah... but Catatafish was also said to be a wizard. Perhaps he's Gandolf?

  • I am so glad this has cross posts for South Park. I *knew* I recongnized that song from somehwere and thought it was the 1977 Hobbit but wasn't sure. Now I am!

  • Thumbs up if South Park brought you here!

  • im only 16 and i laughed so hard at this reference.

  • I'm 17 and I understood this reference instantly. Genius episode

  • I instantly knew what south park was referencing to when i saw the episode. The hobbit animated video is awesome

  • Lol South Park brought me here XD

  • @2112murphy

    lmao noticed that too

  • I spit my food out and nearly choked to death laughing when this music played on South Park. My Mother was the other person to understand why I was laughing so hard. I woke my kids up from coughing so much. Absolutely brilliant old-school reference. They had to of known it would go over 99% of peoples heads. That alone put that episode in "Instant Classic" territory....

    <3 Over 9,000!!!!!! :)

  • It's sad that none of my friends caught this reference from Southpark... I feel shamed for knowing them...

  • Run run, the battle's on, Lemmewinks and Wikileaks, run run, the battle's oooooooooooooooooooooooon

    Go Lemmewiiiiiinks, stop Wikileeeeaks

  • Go Lemmiwinks stop Wikileaks version was awesome...South Park is so clever and hilarious.

  • I'm glad ppl were able to tell that South Park used this, now I don't feel so old XD

  • @AudreyHepburnLover11 When I heard this I was like OH FUCK BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON RIGHT HERE

  • I'm only 20 and picked up on it. Not sure if that is impressive or disturbing.

  • Go Lemmiwinks, Stop wikileaks!

  • @yachtrockman best feeling ever to hear a reference to this.

  • @yachtrockman I knew I wasn't going to be the only one who was brought here by that episode.

  • Hahaha, South Park used this music on tonight's lemmiwinks episode.

  • Oh, so this is where southpark got the idea for the Lemiwinks vs wikileaks song

  • They played this tonight on South Park and it brought back memories. I watched this movie too many times as a kid.

  • Anyone else hear this on the new episode of South Park? The one with Lemmiwinks vs. Wiki Leaks

  • thumbs up if you just saw this on south park XD! LMAO rofl reddit was here!

  • Apathy uses this in a song on his new album: Honkey Kong.

  • I gotta say, I like the design of the fantasy creatures in The Hobbit more than how most media depicts them!

  • As weird as their portrayal of the wood elves was, I grew up with the Rankin/Bass movie and loved it. I watched our copy until it wouldn't play anymore, and now I can't find it anywhere. It make me sad really.

  • These goblins scared the crap outa me as a kid

  • @TheJigen You're not the only one. I think I was close to screaming when they first appeared. And don't get me started on Gollum.

  • OMFG YES! I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS TO SAMPLE FOR AN INSTRUMENTAL, AWESOME!! THIZ IS SUCH DOPE MUSIC!!! :D awe MAN i love this song

  • is there a karaoke version??

  • If you listen to just the beat w/o lyrics, it sounds like something MF Doom would rap over. How can I get my hands on this track w/o lyrics!? It's incredibly dark/funky.

  • 80's high speed chase music

  • Even goblins can't resist the urge to break out into song every once in a while.

  • "Down, Down to Goblin Town" I just love this Song <3 :D

  • lolz cant remember last time i heard this!

  • 2 people just got slaughtered by goblins.

  • @toruto Nah they were the two ponies that got pwnd by the goblins

  • So incredibly good soundtrack. Sounds meean

  • Why is Smaug green?

  • Hmm, by the voting it appears that two Dwarves have viewed this video.

    Ho ho, my lads!

    Time to play D&D.

  • I had this when I was 7 or so. 3 LP box set.... 2 with the story and one with the sound track. All I have left is the Soundtrack now..... wish I could find the box!!

  • world, why there is no metal cover of this?

  • @HipHopOpatamus47 He looks like Mr. Toad wearing a wig.

  • Two miserable persons couldn't find their way out of the cave.

  • only one thing to say... rawr

  • This song still gives me chills ever since I heard this as a kid. Eventhough it is not the same as the book, it still makes you scared of the goblins!

You go my lad! Ho, ho my lad!

  • @saucerspecial lol got that right :P

  • 2 people suck. I was gonna be clever, but they just suck.

  • @Huffstuff420 how 'bout "2 people were dragged down down to goblin-town shortly after disliking this video"? :P

  • My uncle sounds just like these guys, lol.

  • omg thank u so much for this! I always wondered what those ughly monsters were singing at 0:16 o_o this is my fave song out of all the songs from this movie!

  • Smaug looks nothing like that in the movie.

  • there's another song like track n.08 in Return of the King 1980 "Where's a whip there's a way..." do you have it?

  • Is this a bass or baritone singer?

  • @wanderhead Bass.

  • @wanderhead I'd guess a bass singer. The actual singer is Thurl Ravenscroft if this helps.

  • I had the record and book for The Hobbit and it looked very similar to the picture posted here. I had seen the animated movie and my parents bought me a lot of Peter Pan Book and Record sets. This all brings me back to my childhood memories of playing the record and reading the book and looking at the pictures all at the same time. I miss record books !

  • This song made the Goblins EPIC !

  • i would love to see a heavy metal virsion of this song :D

  • I watched this when i was younger, and was just recently reading the book, and when i saw the lyrics to this song in the book i roared laughing and began to sing it.

  • Aw, they didn't include that awesome laugh before one of the "You go, my lad!"s.

I gotta learn this bass line.

  • god man were did you find this,, i belive it being out of print for many many years. this a rear jewlery.

  • Is it bad that I only listen to this song for the insane low notes that guy can sing? haha

  • @willyhuber I mean... that guy is pretty crazy lol

  • lyrics???

  • my dad used to randomly burst out singing this when we would talk about 'The Hobbit' XD and i gotta admit his sings it pretty good..he just can't remeber the lyrics very well XD

  • down down to goblin town down down to goblin town

  • @mrNiceHobbit

Down down to Goblin Town...You go my Lad! HoHo! My Lad!

  • I want this soundtrack in the new Hobbit move!! I would lol sooo hard

  • @EpicPlatypusFilms In theory it should be, since in the novel the Goblins really sing this song.

  • I would lol so hard if this song ends up in the Hobbit movie.

  • I'm fairly certain in the novel the end of the second verse ("Goblins quaff and goblins beat, goblins laugh and goblins bleat...") is actually "Below, my lad, ho ho my lad" not a second rendition of "You go, my lad"

  • "WHO ARE THESE INTRUDERS?!"

  • one of my favorite songs out of this movie.... second was "funny little things".... Goblins definitely had the kick ass songs... they sound like pub drinking songs... and now this goblin town song will be stuck in my head for ages.

and i like the overly dramatic goblin king whom enunciates each word differently like a bad shakespeare actor "whoo are theeeeese miserable persons" and then whails out an emotional scream when hearing what the sword was named....

  • Thanks for posting these it brings back thoughts of my childhood. I am much older now but still wish I could go to middle earth. Thanks!!

  • We watched this movie in my mythology class and I couldn't get over the fact that I actually liked the music. C:

  • These guys sing "Starblazers" title song.

  • I kinda like the track version better than the movie version. Like, the last "Hoho! My lad"

When they sing it in the movie, it kinda sounds like they only put half the effort into it. It just feels like to me it's just a plain, "hoho! my lad" But here, for me it's "HOHO! My lad!" listen to both versions and tell me what you think. I

  • @VMB871 It seems to me that the OST version has the music mixed slightly louder than in the movie, but after careful listening I'm pretty sure that the music and vocal tracks are exactly the same between the two. In the OST version, the bass has more of a kick which may be why the "hoho!" feels stronger to you.

  • Epic!

  • does anyone else think this should be covered by a death metal band or something?

  • @beadden haha certainly :) Besides this was meant to be "scary" as I think, I doubt though that even 3-year olds would be scared away with that... It's too funny to be scary :)

  • PJ PLZ PUT THIS IN YOUR FILM

  • Anyone know the lyrics to this?

  • @VMB871 Crush, snap! Whip crack! Smash, grab! Pinch, nab! You go, my lad! Ho, ho! My lad! (The black crack) Down, down, to Goblin Town! You go, my lad! Ho, ho! My lad! Goblins quaff, and Goblins beat! Goblins laugh, and Goblins bleat! Batter, yammer! Whip and Hammer, ho! You go, my lad! Ho, ho! My Lad! Below, my lad! Ho, ho! My lad! (The black crack) Down, down, to Goblin town! You go, my lad! Ho, ho! My lad!
  • me and my friends in high school were talking about this movie in class and i couldnt believe they had seen it.we got so into talking about the movie and the songs(especially the goblin tunes) we decided right there we needed to start a band wherewe all dressed as orcs and wizards and played these songs.we actually had this and what funny little things down.AND we shall call ourselves GOBLINSTOWN!we never did get around to playing gigs or dressin!i know im lame.it was highschool.i was high!!!!!!

  • Oddly enough this one of my top three favorite songs from the movie. I used to watch this movie over and over with my dad when I was little. Thanks for sharing the soundtrack. I've been looking everywhere for it.

  • What a great song!

I remember in the film one of the goblin guards calling the goblin king "O Truly Tremendous One".

  • "Who are these miserable persons?" XD

  • Even if you aren't much for Glenn Yarbrough or the movie you gotta admit the soundtrack is awesome. The Goblins in particular have the best voices. Who knew?

  • @balrog13571 They sure did.

  • @GlennReturns i REALLY want to download this soundtrack, and anything else you are willing to give me!! :) thanks!!!

  • You are my hero uploading this

  • Love this song so much!

  • such deep voices...man this music rivals and could compete with some of the best

  • Great, but the laugh between the extra deep "Down, down to Goblin Town" and the first "You go, my lad!" feels missing.

  • than u rhank u thank u,

  • YES! MARVELOUS! THE WORLD SHOULD RECOGNIZE THE MARVELOUS WORK THAT WENT INTO THE HOBBIT!

  • hahaha i used to dance to this as a kid all the time! still do :P.... This track needs to be sampled. down down to goblin town~~~

  • @SFGoonies it has been remixed with a new kinda techno bass awesome thing message me if you want me to find it

  • I want to get this song as a ringtone for when my Mother in-law calls!

My adam's apple is so fucking sharp, it hurts to touch it goddamnit >:D

  • LOL @ ShiChelle We had the same issue for a while, too, heehee

  • Best goblin song in the history of goblins!

  • Now if you can find the one for the "Return of the King" soundtrack, I will love you forever.

  • Yes. If anyone wants to download this soundtrack send me a message.

  • DUDE! How did you get this? Can you send me the mp3 file? I've been looking all over for this and funny little things. If you would send them to me or tell me where to find them, I would sing your praise forever!

  • Many thanks, my childhood is flowing back to me in all of its cartoony glory.

  • I love this song. Every time in D&D we mention goblins the whole group starts singing this, haha.

  • ^^ Unfortuanately none of my DND pals have ever been so deep into the lord of the rings or the hobbit as I, XD I wish that would happen.

  • @ShiChelle & I thought I was the only one!!!!

  • @ShiChelle same with our group!

  • @ShiChelle thats fucking badass

  • @ShiChelle ...Goblins

  • @ShiChelle lolz what about where there's a whip there's a way?

  • @8285878984 search for it, its from RotK

  • @ShiChelle That is full of win!

  • @ShiChelle Is this shortly before you are enslaved by goblins, or is it as you kill them?

  • @ShiChelle whow... thats quite geektacular right there :p

  • @ShiChelle I don't blame them.

  • 0:19. does anyone know what there saying?

  • It's "Smash! Clap! Pinch! Nab!"

  • WOOOAAAHHH!! (^▽^) I searched this song in clear version for many years!! THE HOBIT was my favorite animated movie of my childhood and I love their songs, mostly this one! Thank you very much for sharing!! I'm so HAPPY!! (^0^)
