@djepic112 Well said! I came across Kent, who do nearly all their stuff in Swedish, and it sounds better even though I can only pick out words because of similarities with other Germanic languages. It's ridiculous that artists in Holland and South Africa cover English songs in Dutch and Afrikaans - what's the point? They should cover songs like this - if you can't be original, at least try and be distinct.

Vad har finskt blod med det hela att göra? Svenska och danska är ju syskonspråk och fortfarande väldigt lika. Av denna orsak förstår du svenska. Finska däremot är lika olikt svenska som det är olikt danska. Finska tillhör inte ens samma språkstam som svenska och danska. Svenska och danska är nordiska språk sett från ett större perspektiv germanska språk. Finska däremot är ett finsk-ugriskt språk. Finska är mer likt ungerska än det är likt svenska och danska.

@elskerikke :) Ikke bare nemmere, det er ju helt umulig for en svensk eller en dansk at forstå finsk hvis vi ikke har forhåndsviden eller har studeret finsk. Det fine med skandinaviske sprog (svensk, dansk, norsk) er jo at hvis du kan tale ett skandinavisk sprog så kan du gott forstå ett annet skandinavisk sprog uden at du må studere det aktuelle sprog først, ikke sant :)

@gabbefuchs Jo altså jeg kender godt til de danskere, der siger de kun forstår norsk, men det er efter min mening noget sluder. Det er nemt for os at forstå hinanden, og det er klart eftersom vi helt tilbage til middelalderen var et samlet folk der slog sig ned i delvist Norge, Sverige og Danmark. Man kan selvfølgelig sagtens i dag høre, læse norsk og svensk og så forstå det. ;).

Swedish is a germanic language and French is a Latin one :)
