I understand that our bodies generate Vitamin D from Sun exposure. As our body tans it self regulates the optimal amount of Vitamin D it generates.
The CosmeticsDatabase indicates that 99% of sunscreens are ointments containing cancer causing ingredients. Blocking UVA and UVB light will also prevent your body from generating the Vitamine D it requires to fight cancer.
Our government websites claim that "the Sun causes cancer" and endorses using sunscreen. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Curious little question... can VitD have any sort of daily flux effect on behavior? I worked this past summer in Alaska, and (though it was the 'light' part of the year) we ended up not really seeing the sun for about 3 months (weather/mountains). I personally started having MAJOR mood swings... I'd go downdowndown for days, and the sun would peak out for like 10 minutes, and I'd feel GREAT for about 3 hours, then it was back downdowndown again.
Last year in the UK we had no summer - grey, rainy, often often. 2008 has little sun so far. My psoriasis has become awful - far worse than ever before despite being otherwise healthy. Nothing works for psoriasis - 'vitman D analogues' like Dovonex give a tiny benefit and the steroid cream handed out by Docs are plain harmful. UV-light panels work a little better. If i spend a week in Spain, especially on the beach, my psoriasis can almost completely go. VITAMIN D from nature's the only cure.
Hello Dear Dr. Mercola.. I live in Sweden which has the loooongest winter I have ever been to..I am definatelly convinced about what you point in the vid, I was born and lived in south America.BIG DIFFERENCE! but here they dont meassure the blood! how do i know how much it is good 4 me and my family?
I'm currently taking 400 IU of Vitamin D3 during the winter. I've heard of people taking 10000 IU and above, so I'm not too worried about overdose.
I have noticed that taking 400 IU of D3 a day improves my physical endurance and mood.

Or is it all an emotional/mental reaction?

Hey Dr. M. I like your UVA/B lights.. but think I'd much prefer the "Maui prescription".
Nice pad tho.. At first I thought the waves were cars going by. Must be beautiful there.
