if it was 1000 flywheel hp than would be around 850 rwhp, 1000 RWHP= ~1200CHP.
*if this car was 1000rwhp the exhaust would probably be 4 - 5" and you would hear alot more of the turbo.. in this video you hear mostly motor and not too much of the high pitched "whirr" of a turbine..
hence my conclusion of roughly 600.. (you can get 600RWHP out of a 3" turbo back exhaust and low-ish boost)*14-18 psi

@jhsupra22 Well its the simple fact iv worked on supra's for around 5 years and owned one for 6 years. Mine is just about 480-520. There is no chance this is anywhere near 1000hp. Look up envy's supra or titan's supra there both in the 1000bhp range, have a look for yourself the difference.

what happened was the turbo is flowing massive cfm which inturn the fuel injectors have to compensate for . the large ammounts of fuel wasnt completely burnt after closed throttle making the flame you saw
The air flow meter measures just for example.. 1Liter of Air. When closing the throttle and the BOV goes open... the 1Liter of Air isn't going into the engine like the computer thinks. So it still injects the fuel that is rated for 1 Liter of air... Because of the poor Mix ratio it doesn't ignite.. comes into the hot exhaust and there you go ! Flames !
there arent any sensors that meter air flow on the 2jzgte engine ,mass air flow sensors are garbage , thats why the 2j uses a map sensor . measuring pressure instead of cfm . seems you took my point of view and complicated it . you cant do that on here and really expect these morons to know what your talkin about lol
You could write a fuel map so under no load, no throttle, the fuel cuts off. Although I think as a side-effect raw gas pumping out the exhaust would keep the turbo spooled during shifts.
At the same time I wonder if it might be a bit damaging to the turbo to ignite gas in the exhaust system? Not sure on that but would welcome input on that.
@muzeitgeist The turbo igniting the gas would do no harm. It just shows it's running a bit rich. :-) Plus when it ignites it within that clear run-through muffler. I'm sure it's de-cated too as most Turbo cars are after mods. My DSM is. Haha.
