I would feel more comfortable if there was a verifiably constant mechanical load for both scenarios, rather than him shorting out a coil which may be consuming a different amount of power in different circumstances. If we're going to talk about a possible perpetual motion machine then we need clear illustrations of total practical system input energy vs output energy.

Since the device has no output (the coils are either shorted or open), any power it generates has to be fed back to the motor driving it. So simply remove the device and see if the motor speeds up! If the motor runs faster without the device than it does with the device and the switches closed, then it's safe to conclude that it is a net power drain. But if the motor runs slower, then you might begin to argue that it's doing something useful.

Keep in mind this does not invalidate the theory explained in this video. It is actually quite true that simply bringing a magnetic field next to an induction motor's shaft will speed up the motor. It is a simple experiment anyone can try. So probably both effects are happening. Also, Lenz's Law is still balogna -- go look at the Bi-Toroid Transformer videos. I have replicated this work and it behaves as described. Sadly, the law will not change because the academic world is a religion.
Thane Heins has a video from April 1 2009 where he explains that energy from magnets is getting stored in the coil Static field instead of Magnetic field. He leaves out details. I'm 99% sure that what's really happening is an electroradiant event due to a slowly building and rapidly collapsing field around the coil -- resulted by the magnet moving super quick past the coil (microseconds). This causes negative entropy and, thus, energy gain. See the work of Edwin Gray and Peter Lindemann.

of course it speeds it up, but what is happening is it is actually synchronizes with frequency. the thing is acting like a synchronized motor. if you take to induction motors and join them at the shafts with a steel couplng, the drive motor pushing the induction generator will appear to speed up, but it is the back emf of the generator flowing in the single conductive shaft that causes the prime mover to synchro itself to the applied frequency.

More energy is generated than expended. If you take that energy and feed it back into the motor, even more is generated than expended.

Magnets do produce work. They are capable of moving objects in a vectored displacement, that is work, by definition, and no, energy does not have to be added to the system, since it is the magnetic property of the material that does the work ITSELF.
If something is attracted to a stationary magnet, it stays there. You cannot separate them again without using energy (unless you wait for the magnet to de-magnetise itself, which still does not change the argument). If an attracted object is displaced by a moving magnet, it is the thing moving the magnet which is providing the energy; not the magnet itself. Try to seize this simple fact.

Yes, the potential energy of the magnetic field is converted into kinetic energy, and then into elastic deformation stress-energy of the magnet and attracted object (plus some dissipated acoustic energy if they click together). The total energy of the system remains the same (apart from the lost acoustic energy). As I said before, the only way to get any further energy is to wait for the magnet to demagnetise.

Simple test to see if it is usefull!
Since the device has no output (the coils are either shorted or open), any power it generates has to be fed back to the motor driving it. So simply remove the device and see if the motor speeds up! If the motor runs faster without the device than it does with the device and the switches closed, then it's safe to conclude that it is a net power drain. But if the motor runs slower, then you might begin to argue that it's doing something useful.

Keep in mind this does not invalidate the theory explained in this video. It is actually quite true that simply bringing a magnetic field next to an induction motor's shaft will speed up the motor. It is a simple experiment anyone can try. So probably both effects are happening. Also, Lenz's Law is still balogna -- go look at the Bi-Toroid Transformer videos. I have replicated this work and it behaves as described. Sadly, the law will not change because the academic world is a religion.

Thane Heins has a video from April 1 2009 where he explains that energy from magnets is getting stored in the coil Static field instead of Magnetic field. He leaves out details. I'm 99% sure that what's really happening is an electroradiant event due to a slowly building and rapidly collapsing field around the coil -- resulted by the magnet moving super quick past the coil (microseconds). This causes negative entropy and, thus, energy gain. See the work of Edwin Gray and Peter Lindemann.

of course it speeds it up, but what is happening is it is actually synchronizes with frequency. the thing is acting like a synchronized motor. if you take to induction motors and join them at the shafts with a steel couplng, the drive motor pushing the induction generator will appear to speed up, but it is the back emf of the generator flowing in the single conductive shaft that causes the prime mover to synchro itself to the applied frequency.

There's plenty of new perpetual motion machines. Search youtube for "magnetic motor". These are motors based on the power of the magnets themselves, and are not driven by any fuel source.
And a law is not irrefutable if someone is able to violate it. As soon as a law is broken, it needs to be replaced with a new one that factors the new information into the equation.

Yes, the potential energy of the magnetic field is converted into kinetic energy, and then into elastic deformation stress-energy of the magnet and attracted object (plus some dissipated acoustic energy if they click together). The total energy of the system remains the same (apart from the lost acoustic energy). As I said before, the only way to get any further energy is to wait for the magnet to demagnetise.

You're missing the point. The magnetic generator doesn't produce energy directly - it produces motion. The motion, then drives a magnetic oscillator to create energy. Any time there is motion, it can be captured to create electricity. The trick is to get the magnets to produce motion on their own, which nobody debates can be done (place a strong magnet near another and they will move), in a manner that can be repeated regularly enough to create power, while avoiding resistance to the system.

Jaspian: two separated magnets are in a higher-energy state than the same magnets touching. That is why they move together; things always tend to the lowest-energy state. One can obtain energy from their moving together, but it is only the energy that was used to separate them in the first place. It is impossible to have a cyclic process which continuously extracts energy from permanent magnets. No matter how complicated the arrangement, it will move to the lowest-energy state, and stay there.

Conventional energy is captured when magnets and coils are moved relative to each other. Faraday's action at a distance is provided by magnetic waves which replicate when encountering a receptor. Capture of these waves at resonance does not diminish the source. For example, multiple capture devices with exact copies of the magnetic resonance source provides greater output than input. Self sustaining electrical devices then become a reality.

What is astonishing is that he was given the patent at all since it is entirely unoriginal: the basic circuit can be found in the 9th edition of the Encyclopedia Britanica (circa 1860) and other features can be attributed to Wheatstone. This is typical of Tesla: the ideas that worked were stolen, and the unworkable ideas were all his.

@crackahcrackah The multimeter comment was sarcasm based upon fact. I can do tricks with measurement that you cannot even dream of, such as having the reading depend upon who is holding the meter. Of course, someone who refers to 'electrical pressure waves' is certainly 'quite a few cells short of a battery pack' anyway.
BTW, if you check other YT comments of mine, you will find that I am an atheist, and then some. Atheists don't have 'brethren'.

@flowerbower What you're describing is entirely irrelevant to the phenomenon that I've raised. Again, more deflection. The electrical pressure waves are a commonly produced phenomenon but unfortunately most are not familiar with them, and people like you obfuscate and misdirect others. This phenomenon which both Edison and Tesla worked with (the latter perfected incredibly important inventions with it) is discussed at length in a number of his lectures and demos.

@Blndrfist Actually, the more logical approach would be to disseminate the plans for the device to the public and let the public do the testing. People like you have your heads up your fundamental orifice and do not have any clue that main stream science, and LABS (I should know having worked in one) are controlled by grants and all it takes is being told that finding evidence to the contrary from what is accepted, would be "bad" for getting future grants. The conclusions are political.

Why this obsession with the supposed vested interests of scientists? Sure, we are paid more than the average, but nowhere near as much as other professionals (medics, lawyers, etc.) And the research grants? Sure they are large, because the equipment is expensive (but not amenable to the 'shrinkage' benefits available in the average store).

The magnetism itself moves the magnets. Magnetism is a FORCE. It's one of the FOUR FUNDAMENTAL FORCES. It can move things. Work is Force x Displacement. The magnet has been vector-displaced, by a force, and so, by definition, work was performed. What are you a highschool dropout?
