  • 0:35 if I didn't know better i'd swear he was nymphing w/ a spey rod

  • how come it only shows how many times i viewed it ?

  • No idea Frenzy? Got me on that one.

  • There are a several rods used in the video....I believe they are Orvis and Beulah. You can get a number of different switch rods to deploy spey tactics in the $350 range. Orvis, Beulah, Temple Fork Deer Creek, and Redington CPX are all decent rods in that range.

  • Hey awesome video!! :D I was wondering what kind of rod you had.. I want to get into spey fishing for steelhead, but my budget is around $200-$400. So could you give me some suggestions of rods please and Thanks :)

  • Hey im getting a steelhead rod but not a two hander. Any suggestions.

  • @BASSSTALKER89 There are a lot of rods out there in a wide range of prices...what is your price range and I can point you in a specific direction.

  • @BASSSTALKER89 Anywhere from 200 to about 350 and maybe a little over if so.

  • Deadly video!Got me pumped for some North Shore Lake Superiour steelhead!

  • Where's this?

  • @tjmfishing This was shot on the region known as Steelhead Alley (the southern shore of Lake Erie).

  • one of my favourite youtube videos around, I want to get into fishing a switch rod but I screwed up last night when I couldnt find a rod on the internet for under $750 lol looks like Ill have to look past a sage rod.

  • Thanks for the compliment man...that's what I like to hear! As far as switch rods, there are some nice sticks out there for under the premium price points of Z-Axis, Helios, etc.....try the Redington CPX 11' 3" or check out Beulah.....both really nice sticks for half the money!

  • @saoutfitters Sounds good! by the way what do you guys like for swinging in terms of flies in southern erie tribs?

  • We use a lot of different flies...lots of big leaches, emerald shiners variations, etc....got to our fly tying blog to see some examples of what guys use...steelheadalleyflytying.blogspot.com

  • @saoutfitters sounds good, I always say local advice is the best you can get, rather than picking through endless amounts of general litteratrure and asking people in chain stores, the local shop is where you can learn the most in the littlest time. Thanks for the help I'll check out that site!

  • @SetTheHookProduction hey man. lols ive been fishing for a while and my freinds that want to get into it all think you need an expensive rod reel. if you wanna fly fish you can spend 150ish bucks get away with it. and your prob going to learn using it, until you get a expensive one once your good

  • @ItsBrainLock Ive fly fished for a while now, but im looking to get into the two handed approach and uppgrade to a switch rod, but im familiar with one handed casting and genereal fly fishing already

  • Great video.

  • Did I see San Juan worms in that box??? FOR SHAME!!! LOL! Great vid, guys. It's got me ampin' for this year's run! I'm about 1 hour south of Erie, so I stomp up there a lot. Gotta love switchin' for them too. I love to swing dees on a short Scandi head. Tons o' fun. Tight lines!

  • @jfdaly3247 LOL one guy saw my pink sanjuan worm/reel egg creation told me he would kill me if he ever saw me tie it on
