my hosre will let me ride him bareback and bridless but are only problem is stopping because he is very heavy in the face but its better to ride bareback without a bridle i feel because people will you the rien to hold which confuses the horse and teaches them bad habits

U should b proud to have a horse trust you that much and you to be able to trust him. I run a rescue and hardly see horses that good. I have one now I would trust but not many

uhm well we do western pleasure wich involves very litte rein use anyways. but i just started doing this really slowly like started walking and stearing then troting and walking..then on.lol but it took a while. I have had to bail a few times cause i couldnt get her to stop.lol And about your horse im not to sure what to tell you im not really a trainer. but i guess you could ask someone who has worked with spooky horses a lot. :)

if i did it id put on a headcollar with a rope on it, and sit on holding rope in my hand so i doont steer but i can stop in case of emergency

excpet with my horse i can steer and stop with just legs and voice if needed. i did try using the rope to stop and steer but it just irritated her. :P
