comedic actor mike nelson is the man with the mustache, and i'm (henry dittman) the idiot with the briefcase. it was a really fun spot to shoot, regardless of how it's confused some folks!
And I just realized, the moustache guy was in one of last years worst commercials too. The Sonic Drive-In one where the people got stung by a swarm of hornets in their car. That really made me want to eat there. :(
This was "amusing" the first coupla times, and I "got it" right away. But I'll be damned I I haven't seen this a few dozen times and had no memory of what it was for! I had to search "rice flour commercial" to find it.
Why do companies continually churn out comedy skits that barely mention the product? I suspect hip young ad execs persuade them it's the best way, and laugh behind their backs!
@Taureg96 If you guys really don't get it, I'll explain it. The guys says he doesn't think when he travels. That "rice flour" he picks up and the way it is packaged looks like drugs... cocaine. Then, he asks for "12 kilos"... cocaine is something that is commonly measured in kilos. Then, he asks the guy to put his 12 kilos of rice flour in a brief case.
Don't you think 12 packages of white powder in a brief case would look very suspicious if you are travelling?
@Gamezero05 ..the best explanation. Thank you. I got the Kilo reference from the first time I saw it but didnt understand the reasoning, until now. My mind blanked out the first line he says cause I thought I was missing something in the rest of the commercial. What a strange ad. Even stranger is the thought that Kayak would think it was a good ad to run. The board of Kayak must have been doing blow to let this one out on the airwaves.
Another funny one is the brain surgery commercial

@higman12
I agree. Requires too much thought, and doesn't really sell the product.
Would 12 kilos really fit in the briefcase?
