Jennings numbers will continue to drop as more defenses key on him - he came in as an unknown quantity from playing in Europe, unlike Tyreke who everybody had sized up as a big shooting guard - take a look at what chris paul is doing for NO these days if you think otherwise - a small guard is only as good as the shooters around him, Jennings has a great shot, speed etc, however so did Iverson - you don't win championships with a 6'0 shoot first point guard, you need a big scorer, a la Evans..
Just because you have a 6"0 shoot first point guard doesn't mean you can't win championships. I mean you can't center all that into Iverson. One man doesn't determine wether or not a team wins a championship.
No NBA team has ever won a championship with a 6' foot guard doing 90% of all the scoring and ball handling, whatever his personal statistics are.. Jennings looks good, however he'll only go so far by himself - ditto Evans, however with his height and skills he will prove more versatile a player and can do more for his team than Jennings, who I admit looks WAY better than I thought he would..
uh, Joe Dumars (18 ppg), Mark Aguirre, Vinny Johnson..each of these guys could have averaged 25 points a game, in Daly's system they were unselfish - Isiah won those titles because he was surrounded by scorers - they had SIX players average double figures 1989 -90 !!
not to mention Dennis rodman and Bill Laimbeer, both 10+ rebounds a game..

now are you sure about that? well, if he does avg more points, it'll be b/c he takes more shots. evans has a higher FG and FT percentage, more steals/game, more rebuonds/game, and from what I've seen, has been consistently getting better. Jennings on the other hand, well, his numbers have been dropping. And last time I checked, Sacramento plays in the Western conference, and on top of that, they have more wins

@blacktopaz8, if youre not sold on the rookie of the year, then youre not a good consumer........ Evans was easily slashing and lighting it up in college as well. How are you not sold on someone who has averaged 20 points a game since high school

Lame Team?? Ya right our team has one of the best and loudest fans and plays exciting basketball for the last 10 years, "but the guy shoots well", shooting is the least part of his game but once he is more consistent outside it wont even be fair

you know what i hate... ppl that say someone isnt a natural pg... it makes no sense to me... i mean from age 8-13 i was a complete gunner... at 14 i started playing point and now im a better passer than anyone i know... it takes practice like any other bball skill and tyreke will get the hang of it.. i see him turning into the stronger penny hardaway once he gets more confidence in his passing.. ps plz dont come at me with my competition must be weak or some shit.. i played d4 college bball.

d4? lmao wth theres D4 basketball? lol if it were d2 that would be respectable at least d3. but D4? i can honestly without a shadow of a doubt say that your competition was very weak. d4? thats where high school bench players go. & ya you don't have to be a natural pg as they say but it doesnt hurt to start at that position at a young age.

so then you played d2? otherwise you dont respect your own game im guessing... i was the 3rd best player on my hs team.. i nvr said i was so amazing player, i just wanted to clarify that i have had legit basketball experience so that using myself as an example would be somewhat justifiable(sp?)... and your comment on jennings is wack, jennings #s are getting worse by the game.. tyreke kills him in every aspect other than speed, 3pt shot, and bj is a slightly better passer...(for now)

D4... c-mon that has to be a joke. if you were 3rd best on your hs team and the farthest you got to was D4 your high school team to be frank must have been crap. & jennings has been declining ill give you that. but it started when redd came in and interrupted the flow. when kevin martin comes back and interrupts evans you will see what im saying. & just to again clarify. tyreke's a great pg at this point he is better than jennings. but i see the ROY being jennings only cuz he will make PO.

Jennings numbers will continue to drop as more defenses key on him - he came in as an unknown quantity from playing in Europe, unlike Tyreke who everybody had sized up as a big shooting guard - take a look at what chris paul is doing for NO these days if you think otherwise - a small guard is only as good as the shooters around him, Jennings has a great shot, speed etc, however so did Iverson - you don't win championships with a 6'0 shoot first point guard, you need a big scorer, a la Evans..

Just because you have a 6"0 shoot first point guard doesn't mean you can't win championships. I mean you can't center all that into Iverson. One man doesn't determine wether or not a team wins a championship.

No NBA team has ever won a championship with a 6' foot guard doing 90% of all the scoring and ball handling, whatever his personal statistics are.. Jennings looks good, however he'll only go so far by himself - ditto Evans, however with his height and skills he will prove more versatile a player and can do more for his team than Jennings, who I admit looks WAY better than I thought he would..

uh, Joe Dumars (18 ppg), Mark Aguirre, Vinny Johnson..each of these guys could have averaged 25 points a game, in Daly's system they were unselfish - Isiah won those titles because he was surrounded by scorers - they had SIX players average double figures 1989 -90 !!
not to mention Dennis rodman and Bill Laimbeer, both 10+ rebounds a game..

... umm... name me the last team to win a championship with a 6-6 pg.... ya thats what i thought. you gotta go all the way back to the MAGIC JOHNSON days to find a championship pg at that height. btw, cp3 does not do 90% of the scoring and ball handling nor does jennings. lol they both avg 20 ppg & 5-10 assists per. if that accounts for 90% of the offense those would be real crappy 60 point offenses.

btw, jennings already has better midrange, 3 pt shot, court awareness and off. awareness than evans. probably from his europe experience. but you cant compare versatility with height. hell last night cp3 a 6 footer got 30-19-9... and he avg about 3 steals per game, shoots above avg from midrange, 3. only flaw is that he isnt that great of a one on one defender. that enough versatility for ya? lmao.

i dont see jennings creating match up problems like tyreke..... honestly. jennings is good and quick.. but tyreke is quick and HUGE for a point guard. can play 3 positions with his size.

now are you sure about that? well, if he does avg more points, it'll be b/c he takes more shots. evans has a higher FG and FT percentage, more steals/game, more rebuonds/game, and from what I've seen, has been consistently getting better. Jennings on the other hand, well, his numbers have been dropping. And last time I checked, Sacramento plays in the Western conference, and on top of that, they have more wins

I agree Jennings had a good first 12 games but than went on the decline. Evans has been consistent ever since Kevin martin got injured ( pretty much the whole season). Dwyane Wade said that Evans is the most complete rookie this year
