No he was not.. Guy practically anyone that was good with V-ism were better than any of the characters that used Aism excluding Dhalsim,. Guy was top tier in Street Fighter Alpha mainly because he had dizzy combos.
Guy builds meter like crazy and as soon as you get level 3 super you win.
Bunshin combo into 2*qcf+hk into bunshin combo into bunshin flip grab. Shit's easy to do and nearly takes a full bar. That and Guy's godlike pressure and you got the best A-ism character.
Lol at Sim, Chun and Ryu. Sim's only good in v-ism. Actually most characters are only good there. Only Guy and Gen are arguably better in A-ism and can compete with V-ism characters
I play Aism Guy in Alpha 3 lol.. still do. and its Bushin*
Sim's Good in A or V dude.. His normals have ridiculous amount of priority, Also that combo you listed its more than likely your opponent will either tech or the qcf hk (run overhead) will miss due to timing and recovery on the attack. Also any smart player, Will know now to allow Guy to rush them to the corner or stand up a lot to avoid Bushin Flip and Bushin Chain. Also Ryu actually can be used in any ISM and still be good.
@XESHADOWX It's easy as hell do to the bushin (see I corrected it) combo. Unless the opponent is the entire match crouch blocking you'll do it. You can't tech that combo... well maybe the grab you can but not the rest. It's easily 70% of the lifebar.
Ryu can still be good. He's just nowhere near as good as Guy. Same with Sim. In A-ism no one compares to Guy. Simple as that. He's equal to Sagat in SF4. Sagat in SF4= Guy in A-ism.
I honestly don't see this happening at all cause.. I play Guy, it only becomes an easy 70%-100 if you get the opponent in the corner. In most cases a lot of Guy's big combos come from a Jump HP, Bushin Chain> Proximity cancel the Roundhouse and cancel it into Lvl 3 Kick super, Follow up with Bushin Chain once or twice or MP HP , Heavy Bushin flip elbow and that will more than likely cause a stun, and finish it off there. But anyone that know how Guy plays, won't fall into that.

Even then his best game with Alpha 1 not 3, for very good reasons, That version of Guy is more close to SF4 Sagat.

It's intentionally setup that way. I'm guessing there are region and voice settings available in the Service options menu.
