ass rocks! love those mobo's +the heatsinks on them are smexy ^^ finishing my first build in 1 week from now Asrock A780GXH/128M Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic x2 Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X4096-6400C5 6GB (3x2)
BTW, both mobos have 2 X PCIE 2.0 that run @ 16X & 8X in SLI or Xfire mode. Nature of the beast. So if you need 2 GPUs running at 16X you should buy the mobo guaranteeing it. I had a customer that didn't like what he perceived as a performance hit. But he's still happy with his ASRock. Says his e8400 OC's stable @ 4.0 GHz with a massive ZALMAN cooler. Dropped from 52F idle to 38F. I prefer not to OC much since I always sell my current rig after 6 mos & don't want to degrade the components.
I've had problems with every major brand mobo from Abit to ZOTAC. The worst: Gigabyte & ASUS (DOA's mostly). 'Expensive' doesn't always mean quality. Since retiring from the corporate grind I now enjoy building systems for friends & neighbors. They flock to me like birds to seed. I refuse to use 'cheap' parts but the 'best' also cause unexpected problems after the build. ASRock's been my mobo of choice for the last 2 yrs. Customers couldn't be happier. Gamers like the solid OC'ing. AS Rocks!
Read the newegg reviews about all the DOAs for Gigabyte and ASUS. SAVE! Buy ASR! Put your money into a better CPU or faster GPU and smile all the way to the bank.
lol asrock sucks i have a Conroe 1333-D667 and OC capabilities of this mobo is very limited my E4500 reaches only 2.6GHZ stable im gonna buy a Ga-G31-ES2l from gigabyte to squeeze more from my processor
but what about DDR4 -.- DDR4 is coming with 32nm technology o maybe with 16nm technology is a cyrcle of life so
i preffer a high end ddr2 system with is comparative with a high end DDR3 system just on P45 board or erm X48 board , in X58 i know than DDR3 is more faster just for the core I7 proccesor , so DDR3 is just a fewer fps better on the game speed -.- , and u forgot to tell the lil problem about ddr3 in old intel chipset ,
thats why they make the X58 chipset to fully support DDR3 , so P45 with DDR3 is a big waste of money , for people who need DDR3 go to X58 board or wait for Core I5 to be released ^^.
First mobo i bought was Acorp. Worked ok. Then upgraded to an expensive Gigabyte. It failed, had to RMA it, sold the brand new replaced one. Then i bought Abit NF7S-v2.0, very strong motherboard, works even today.
After that i had another Abit, based on intel, IC7-Max3. This one works today too, powering a mail server.
Currently i'm on AsRock 4Core-Dual Sata2 at home, working well and overclocking good. Probably untill this Christmas gonna have the P45TS also from AsRock.
lmao you guys believe this guy...he works for asrock.....ha ha and now you think gigabyte sucks...the asrock has ddr3 in it...vs the gigabyte with ddr2...this dosnt prove asrock is better...try running that shitty asrock above a 500mhz fsb...my gigabyte ep45-ud3r was $115 and it runs my 3ghz E8400 at 4.45ghz 24/7 on 1.344 vcore...hey go buy an asrock if you want to...as long you dont really think its better than a gigabyte
Assrock is cheaper but Gigabyte is more durable and higher quality. Besides anyone who has the money for expensive ddr3 memory wouldn't buy a cheap ass assrock board. And btw does Assrock have all solid state capacitors like Gigabyte has?
when Asrock compare itself to Gigabyte and provide the proof that it is more powerful and advanced at the same chipset , that means Asrock has a got a place on top of big brands ,and is likely to be number one for long time
i tested G brand before more than one time , but always there is still something missing that u wish if only it is there , but when to look to Asrock u can be sure that u will be more than satisfied when u get Asrock
I have an internet cafe and I assembled all my pc units. I've tried many different mobo brands: Asus, Intel, ECS, Jetway, Gigabyte and many others but the best mobo that never failed me is AsRock. When I first bought it, I thought that I had only chosen it for its low cost but boy am glad it served me well and it exceeded beyond my expectations. It's by far the most reliable, highly recommended mobo in the market today. Thank you AsRock! I want to try the newer models soon!
useful comparison, why should you pay more and get less while you can pay less and get much more !
ddr 3 has no analogue on other brands at the same chipset .so they stand far behind when it comes to performance and gaming ,compared to Asrock ,sure it is the smarter choice for performance enthusiastics and gamers
It's a shame that this model shown there will never be in Argentina... I always like the ASROCK brand... I works with computers and every product product that I have to test, were always excellent... such a good price in the top of the line.
I'm too lazy to check, but I'll bet gigabyte has a p45 mobo with ddr3 support, that probably gets a higher mark, but I'm not against asrock. I'm running an asrock mobo myself, and am very pleased with the performance.
very nice demonstration that help the make of right choice when it comes to brands comparison , and here it seems Asrock has the lead , those videos are really helpful means of communications and support
I'm upgrading my computer next week and AsRock is my choice ( again ) as far as the mobo is concerned.
I'm getting the K10N78FullHD-hSLI R3.0 for a music workstation in a thermaltake vf6000bws case... Over 8 times the power I have now in 1/3 of the size... great times !
To sum this all up, the features on the board work great, and there is something for everyone. That said, the P45R2000R-WiFi should do well for users who want a solid upgrade for an older system or even for the enthusiast looking to build a HTPC or similar.
Ok...that's a very cheap solution for third world countries and for people that want a cheap and reliable solution for upgrading,in the near future,to DDR3.But that's all it is...ASRock should really stop avoiding the HighEnd segment and start supporting DDR3 standalone modules at more that 1333 MHz frequency. This would be a huge BANG on the market,ASRock having stable, cheap and TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED MBs.Still for the LowEnd and Mainstream user...the P45 w/DDR3-1333 is a good enough solution.
I can remember when ASRock was just making "budget" motherboards... now they make great performance motherboards too! All of the ASRock boards I have purchased are still going strong- one of them is running an old celeron 2.4 from 5 years ago!
Asrock make some absolute bargain priced boards but as you can see there's no corners cut, these boards perform. Put those hard earned dollars to good use elsewhere in your new system and enjoy top performance all round.
this p45 mobo from Asrock has all the features that i like and u may like in that category of mobo and with better technology and attractive price range .sure would like to get one
Why don't they review DDR3 1066 and DDR2 1066... That would be a much beter comparison. Anyway, I've already had a few Asrocks and they've never let me down :) Gigabyte is good too though, but mine's broken now. Thinking about buying a new Asrock mobo.
To sum this all up, the features on the board work great, and there is something for everyone. That said, the P45R2000R-WiFi should do well for users who want a solid upgrade for an older system or even for the enthusiast looking to build a HTPC or similar.
Good upgradebility !!! Seriously, only better was ASROCK 4COREDUAL series (Which one I, proudly, own).
Logical step is to upgrade to a P45 based MB. Best part is, at least in Poland, P45R2000 series motherboard from Asrock is about 2 TIMES !!!!!! cheaper compared to any other brand. Asrock is just the ONLY CHOICE ;)
This is great!!!! A MB company that provides support for both DDR2 and DDR3... Im curious on if the difference is just in the DDR3 or if the MB alone would show an improvement.
ASROCK is a way better buy people, relation about price/performance is superior and this mobo really helps you being updated with no useless waste of money.
Since I use Motherboard bought ASROCK reason eh ... have generally been very durable, have an excellent performance and had never eh serious problems. Lately the Motherboards ASROCK have high quality and this means more performance. Congratulations
I`m proud owner of Asrock mainboard and i`m happy with it its rich futures. When i was going to buy it i did not see any other manufacturer to offer same futures at this price range and i`m considering buying more asrock products :) in future
I work for the Department Engineering of Warwick University and decided to update my computer. I asked colleagues for advice which motherboard to chose and they were naming Asus, Gateway, Intel or Asrock. I checked the motherboards overviews and have bought the Asrock P43Twins1600 board, because it has new P43 chip with PCI-E 2.0, developed overclocking, DDR3, 1600 FSB and many more features. Now I see that I will not disappoint my colleagues at the university with the board performance.
Too bad DDR3 is still relatively expensive, though. I definitely can't wait to try out some DDR3 memory one day myself though. Hopefully not too long from now. Technically it should draw less power as well as performing better. DDR3 looks pretty promising overall!
Wiki has Core i7 due out next month, so that should help lower prices for DDR3, and this board, along with the other ASRock P43 and P45 boards, will help with people who dont want to buy new systems right now, and just want to upgrade parts. This board will also make it easier to purchase DDR3 and wait for the Core i7's prices to even out, and then just switch over to the new boards and cpu without having to buy new memory.
I love how all of ASRock's products keep the future in mind. I use an ASRock Dual-SATA2 motherboard and I bought it because it came with everything: AGP 8x and PCI-E x16, 939 socket and an AM2 socket, and also a Sata2 port. Still using it and it's still a beast!
" I love how all of ASRock's products keep the future in mind. I use an ASRock Dual-SATA2 motherboard and I bought it because it came with everything: AGP 8x and PCI-E x16, 939 socket and an AM2 socket, and also a Sata2 port. Still using it and it's still a beast! "
*No it's not* Uh, YES it is! Bet you never used an ASRock mobo either. I highly recommend it. Saying it can't overclock stable is clearly a newbie problem! Buy ASRock, put the savings into a faster GPU/CPU/memory or cooling (for OC'ing).
I've built computer systems for 27 years; when many of you newbies were still on the tit. I've used every brand of mobo there is in over 200 builds: corporation/gaming/home. It's value priced & a solid performer. Never had a DOA like with all the major brands.
I believe it's interesting that you can use various memory modules (ddr2, ddr3) but as someone said, until DDR3 becomes more accesible to common users it won't have a great impact on computers. Regarding the mother: it has great funcionalities (in this case more than the gigabyte mother) and its price is far more accesible for users. I believe Asrock is growing and making greater motherboards each day. Best wishes for the company.
i don't think ddr3 memory outperforms ddr2 yet. at least not in affordable modules. althoug, it's a cool feature to have the possibility to use any memory module on a mobo. i hope this feature doesn't end up in smaller memory tollerance
That is what i like about ASROCK, like in the past AGP & PCI-E on one board und now DDR2 and DDR3 on one board *thumps up* so u can wait until the prices dor DDR3 getting lower
Actually, if you asrock wanted to pro your mobo (especially this model: P45R2000-WiFi), there are lots of other strengths of your brand that could be demonstrated such as wi-fi, more slots of ddr3 when compared to other brands, for instance. It's better than to compare just the new with the old technology (like ddr3 & ddr2)
this video is not reasonable enough coz you asrock chose to compare your mobo with the G Brand [GA-EP45-DS3] but lower spec than yours.
It's common sense that when you compare ddr3 with ddr2, the score will be like that. I think it seems in vain to do that.
Well, if you Asrock do justice (dare) enough, why dont you compare with the similar spec model of G Brand like GA-EP45C-DS3R. I quite believe that the scored results will be different.
that DDR2/DDR3 mem compatibility is VERY VERY cool. it reminded me of those asrock models with agp/pci-e slots, or the cpu upgrade cards, all from asrock. it's the only brand thar really cares about compatibility and price. keep up the good ideas!!! (and somehow, implementing them)
That is the cool thing to all new models from Asrock they all have both DDR2&DDR3 module memory, not like Gigabyte and Msi . So for that i recomend Asrock because is moore futureproof ! And they start to be very good in overclocking, an example in Asrock P45 2000-WIFI = Fsb 520 !
Gigabyte one of Kings ,Asrock non comparible

I've bought a P45 Asrock mainboard recently and I'm not disappointed by now.
It was a really good price for the features it supported - DDR3 support being one of them.
If I were to buy a Gigabyte motherboard i'd have to pay more for less - screw paying for a brand-name.

I wasn't sure which was better until I watched this video. ASRock is clearly the winner! Thanks!

Many of Mb which support FSB "1600" won't work with a QX9770, but Asrock mb can. Good job Asrock !

I can't wait to go with DDR3, when the price will drop a bit... AsRock rocks!

DDR3 only seems expensive as DDR2 has flooded the market
wait until '09/'10 and prices should be the same as DDR2 is today
TonyJZX 3 years ago

No it's not

*No it's not* Uh, YES it is! Bet you never used an ASRock mobo either. I highly recommend it. Saying it can't overclock stable is clearly a newbie problem! Buy ASRock, put the savings into a faster GPU/CPU/memory or cooling (for OC'ing).
I've built computer systems for 27 years; when many of you newbies were still on the tit. I've used every brand of mobo there is in over 200 builds: corporation/gaming/home. It's value priced & a solid performer. Never had a DOA like with all the major brands.

YES! We pro gamers like to suck on a tit then go out and buy some good MB like Gigabyte or ASUS.
NOOBZ can't afford tits and they save for months and then they buy some turd world MB like ASRock.
I hate NOOBZ so very very much. They are so lame.
Thank you for listening.
It's the best!

Pro gamers don't spend their time on youtube--they compete! They GAME! And I'll bet they don't suck their momma's tit either....

best value for money motherboard. have been selling this for the past year and no complaints yet. very good product.

Same from my side! I hope that in a short time Asrock will be the best !

Best wishes for the company.

i don't think ddr3 memory outperforms ddr2 yet. at least not in affordable modules. althoug, it's a cool feature to have the possibility to use any memory module on a mobo. i hope this feature doesn't end up in smaller memory tollerance
ivandiazarg 3 years ago
very cool this mainboard. i hope i will have in the next months the money for a new asrock.
waldinz 3 years ago
This test would make a lot more sense if you compared it with DDR2 at the same board.
So it's yust a video:
How to beet a Gigabyte board!
tobybrueck 3 years ago
GO on Asrock ,you can beat in time Gigabyte !
3xdan 3 years ago
That is what i like about ASROCK, like in the past AGP & PCI-E on one board und now DDR2 and DDR3 on one board *thumps up* so u can wait until the prices dor DDR3 getting lower
gaarax81 3 years ago
Wow, that's good business by ASRock. Keep it up!
Even better value for money, thanks to lifespan.

Just an idea & Regards ...
ketgecko 3 years ago
this video is not reasonable enough coz you asrock chose to compare your mobo with the G Brand [GA-EP45-DS3] but lower spec than yours.
It's common sense that when you compare ddr3 with ddr2, the score will be like that. I think it seems in vain to do that.
Well, if you Asrock do justice (dare) enough, why dont you compare with the similar spec model of G Brand like GA-EP45C-DS3R. I quite believe that the scored results will be different.
ketgecko 3 years ago
And if you look at specificatios, Asrock boards are more equipated then others in same class and price range(sata, Glan, wi-fi, others).
3xdan 3 years ago
that DDR2/DDR3 mem compatibility is VERY VERY cool. it reminded me of those asrock models with agp/pci-e slots, or the cpu upgrade cards, all from asrock. it's the only brand thar really cares about compatibility and price. keep up the good ideas!!! (and somehow, implementing them)
ivandiazarg 3 years ago
That is the cool thing to all new models from Asrock they all have both DDR2&DDR3 module memory, not like Gigabyte and Msi . So for that i recomend Asrock because is moore futureproof ! And they start to be very good in overclocking, an example in Asrock P45 2000-WIFI = Fsb 520 !
