Well in terms of events, it was sitting on the porch of Montecito Lodge in Sequoia National Park (California).

Otherwise, some influence from Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, a bit of Vai, and traditional Celtic music.

No probs, may i ask what kind of acoustic guitar it is that you are using? it kinda looks like a 12 string but it shurly it cant be that because it only has six tuners :S

Heh, kidding. It's an Ovation Elite Special S868. It's a 6-string (my strings have red polymer coating). The video doesn't do it justice, but it has a great piezo pickup that gets a wide, balanced range of tone and great articulation.

Thank you! The tuning intervals are standard, except that I'm starting at D rather than E. Gives it a nice earthy tone, I think.

The fact you've experimented with an acoustic too add abit of shred makes this more individual than most people dare too be :/shame really as its really good too listen to.

I believe that is a Lydian scale you are playing, you don't even know your own song. thats really sad.

Wrong. Play E major, then F# Major7, then try playing F# Lydian on top of the 2nd chord. It's clearly wrong. F# Mixolydian is the correct mode. E Lydian would also be correct (since it's the same as F# Mixo), but why talk about E Lydian over an F# chord? Anyhow, stop being so rude, it's annoying.

Good job.Work on your left hand positioning. Economy of motion in LH. fingers is lacking. keep them close to the fretboard. I think that is the last missing element.

Thanks. I have a strange way of playing: I realize that it looks cumbersome and inefficient. I'm actually using very little effort in that video. There's something a lil odd about my hands that makes it nearly impossible to keep the LH pinky over the fretboard when not in use; yet I can get the pinky down very fast with minimal effort. Dunno why. But when I play real shred licks on an electric, it looks more efficient.

Heh, what are you talking about? First of all, that note is an E, which is the 7th note in F# mixolydian (it's not F# major, thus no leading tone, FYI). Second, I couldn't care less what somebody thinks of my tone. I'm not going to fork out $1000 on a nice amp so that somebody on YouTube will think better of me. Third, if I were "trying to make it in this business," I wouldn't be wasting my time on YouTube. And neither should you, "rock producer."
