Well, it's not like he had time to head to his room before escaping Cloud City nor do I think he kept spare clothes on the Falcon after losing it to Han. He needed a change of clothes after the ordeal. I'd say he could've gotten some from the Rebel PX on the ship but maybe he forgot his credits too. Chewie doesn't wear any human clothes so the logical choice was the clothes in Han's cabin.
