  • how do you get a blue jay to sit on your shoulder

  • we raised a blue jay in Jacksonville when I was a little kid and released him back into the wild when he became old enough. the smartest bird I ever saw as he was always able to escape his cage.

  • @calleyne90 Humans are even more disgusting, when you think about it. Most people aren't a pretty sight, and a lot of them smell. (Kids are the worst... they pick their noses and eat the boogers, stick their hands in their pants and fondle themselves, and then don't wash their hands.)

And speaking of shit, consider the socially-accepted way we clean ourselves after taking a dump. If you had shit on your fingers, would you use dry tissue paper to wipe them off (instead of soap/water?)

  • @calleyne90. What's a piece of shit? Me saying I wish that we had birds as lovely as that or that these kinds of birds are a piece of shit? Surely you can't be saying I am over my small comment. That's just mean.

  • That bird is a male!

  • ooooooooohhhh!

  • Did you raise her from a chick? Or did she just show up one day?

  • Comment removed

  • I know this video is old, but how did y'all get the blue jay to trust y'all that much? I've always wanted to have a wild bird friend and any tips would be awesome! :D

  • you wanna go upstaits?

  • What a beautiful native bird! I wish we had ones like that in the UK.

  • I'm gonna try and tame our jay's now =)

  • 0:21 she asked if it wanna to go upstairs in to her room.. so they can get down n dirty ;)

  • 0:55 was so cute!

  • @thissucksyoun000000b i think what u were looking at was a mirror, sorry.

  • You are ugly & stupid why else would you say something so retarded, get off this thread moron because I will kick your ass punk.

  • @readynow12345 kick his ass eh? yah start beating up your monitor

  • OMG that is adorable, and amazing!!!

  • Why did you name it Turtle??

  • must of been a disney princess in a past life

  • I think the bird is asking for food.

  • it's mordecai!

  • Mr. Bluebbird on my shoulder. It's the truth! It's actual! Everything is satisfactual!

  • ♥ sososososo CUTE your the LUCKIEST people in the world:D Birds and any other animals can sense peoples that are bad and whose not, :D

  • lol my name is jay XD

  • I would not have believed it if I did not see it with my own eyes. The jays in Texas are bolder than most birds but are full of caution too. I set out some water for them in this terrible drought and they would come by but won't even consider letting me get close. I am lucky if they let me watch them drink.

  • Yeayuhhh!

  • Wow! You look like a sorceress.

  • Some people just attract animals....

  • animals are really intelligent, had a cat break into our home and opened the fridge and took out all the food

  • @PSNMarksmanSniper LOL.......my cat some how figured out how to open a closet door to get his catnip

  • This is incredible!

  • this is scary, funny, cute, and creepy at the same time I dont see how a bird could put so much trust in a person that is not like them. I guess it is true opposites do attract! but this is creeping me out!

  • isn't that bird a boy? boys have crests, so that is a boy

  • @wildstallionstudios

It's not just boys that have crests. Look at a Cardinal, both the male and female have crests.

  • Lovely and touching.

  • yeah she is a sweet bird, lucky to have known her i concur.

  • She is very sweet, and you are lucky to have known her...

  • I want him

  • are you guys crazy she obessly raised this bird and released it and the bird came back because their was thunder good job momma he new where to find the one he could trust xoxoxo having rasied a bird sue

  • Cute, I guess. But my grandmother hated blue jays and so I hate them too. I mean, I'd never hurt one or anything, but they're pretty aggressive, mean-spirited birds. We'd always watch the cardinals in my grandmom's yard, and so many times, the blue jays would steal food from the cardinals, chase them off, ruin their nests, and just make life miserable for them. I love cardinals, but blue jays...not so much.

  • really cool

  • It didn't look like a "she" to me it had full colouring and markings and seemed think you were into it/him by doing kissing gestures.. feeding is a bird way of saying "I love you" to another bird( or other person) lol or it was hungry ir thought you were attractive lol.

  • someone probly took care of it then let it go

  • That bird looks delicious. Perhaps it would taste like blueberries.

  • all of a sudden *PECK* nahh I'm jk.. :P

  • awesome video keep on filming

  • Fantastic!

  • i hope that bird shits on your back hahaha

  • Love to yas N Turtle This is SO BEAUTIFUL ~!!

  • Oh wow! I feed bluejays, have had a couple get within maybe 24-36 feet from me, which I thought was quite an accomplishment!

  • Wow how is that even possible? She had zero fear of you guys. Very amazing. Jays are in the same family as crows right? Or something like that. Smart birds!

  • @svtcontour Ignoring my last comment is not going to make things go away!!!!!!

  • Ew, have you gotten bird flu yet? -_-

  • Hi,Mordecai!

  • @IvyLULZ MUSTACHE CASH STASH

  • @IvyLULZ u play ps3 borderlands? or 360

  • Cool! :)

  • I have a pet Bluejay. We raised him from a baby after we found him on the ground after a storm. If we had left him outside on the ground he would have for sure been killed by all the cats around. We have now had him for 8 yrs. He lives in a big cage in our kitchen right in front of a big window. He gets only the best of everything to eat. And our indoor cats lay up on top of his cage and he thinks they are his best buddies.

  • couldn't you see that the bird is looking for food? that's why she kept touching your lips. Next time have some bird food handy.

  • That's neat :)

He just sits on her shoulder.

    that's really cute.

  • a rare scene

  • I raised a blue jay from when it accidentally fell out of the nest. I planned on letting it go but unfortunately my mom got way too attached. He does the same thing :)

  • That's Cute :)

  • What a unique experience! Sure that wasn't a male you saw there?

  • 1:25 *poof* XD

  • Great!

  • How did u do that!!!!!

  • I love it when birds come to me. It's so unpredictable.

I never had a blue jay visit me. It's so cute. The bird loves you. Some people told me that birds only come to the pure heart and if your a good person.

These little chickadee birds love me, they swarm me but don't hurt me when I go to the mountain. I wonder if they know my last name is Chickee & are impressed with that. lol

I don't know but I feel warm fuzzy goodness and love with the animals do come to me.

  • she's cute, and the bird ain't bad either

  • great

  • It's so beautiful^^

  • Neat! I am not going to ask how this is possible because some animals do this to certain people (regardless of a coaxing method). I just have to say that you must be a good person.

  • Amazing. I'm so jealous.

  • That is awesome! I love Blue Jays and feed them peanuts every day. I wish I could get one to land on my shoulder. They are not mean, just very territorial and protective of their nests. Great video here.

  • I thought blue jays were a tad mean. I guess not all of them...

It was like he was talking. Very cute video. :)

  • wow

  • I work at a walmart standing out infront of the tire bays writing up cars but when it gets slow im knows for the 3 blue jay family that will come right up to my feet, but nothing like this

  • This happened to me before only it was a pigon

  • GOD animals are amazing!

  • This is a REMARKABLY video!!! However...Not uncommon. I've been in the avian field, for many years now, and have always been amazed by the intelligence of these birds. Jays are in the "Corvid" family, being cousins to; Ravens, Crows, & Magpies. There larger cousins, the Crows & Ravens, are noted for there high intelligence, and rivialing parrots in there ability to be taught things. However...This bird became extra friendly, its rare but it can happen. So consider yourselves very lucky.......:)

  • @tomtalker2000 That was like when I was back in college, I made friends with two ravens. I nicknamed them Huginn and Muninn and fed them french fries at lunchtime. They always would come right up to me then.

  • @tomtalker2000 A family of barn swallows come to my parents house every year, to the same nest. They used to be afraid of us, but after we protected them over the years they have turned friendly. It's to the point where if you hold out a fly, they'll land somewhere within reach and let you feed them (they wont perch on our shoulders yet).

    Birds are awesome.

  • Thats really sweet and cute~

  • hey magy me ian lol
