Nice, especially like that hat fill after 2:12. Seems like your tempo might push or pull a milli second off sometimes but i am being very picky and possibly its just my ear. Wish I could play half that and i have been playing forever. Good feel, dynamics, control and well that was just sick.
Do you record your drums. If so I would love to have a good copy of your drumming with separate track of the original song. Would be interested in importing it into my protools LE and doing the guitars.
Hey just wanted to stop by and say great cover of this classic tune! As for those who say you need more more emotion in your playing I think they should take a look at Mr. Peart himself. An amazing drummer who rarely lets his emotions show while playing. Whether from concentration or just being so deeply involved with his playing I dont know, but surely a smile or facial expressions do not dictate the talent of the musician.
Every time I'm playing, I'm ON the stage with all of them -- even Neil who is closest to the heart of things. The funny (peculiar) thing is that a lot of people tell me that I looked bored or not into when I'm playing. The truth is: I'm REALLY into it, so much so that I can't even spare a part of my brain to smile or make any expression whatsoever, so I look blank.
Don't worry Paulie, I get the same response from people. People tell me that I need to get into it more, but instead of showing emotion through my face, I feel better showing it through my playing itself.
awesome Paul! ,.. great vid once again. one of these days we should get together , trade some grooves and jam!,.. would be cool to do some percussion stuff along side you and vice versa.
Tight again as usual, Paulie. One of the best drummers on You-Tube and beyond. Covering a song near the beginning of over 3 decades of the most diverse and inovative Rock bands in the world ever, and their still not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame (Shame). What an injustice. Did the band decline the offer? Does anyone know the real story? WTF!?! BUNCH OF ASS-CLOWNS.
with out a doubt one of my all time fave rush songs AND YOU ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT ! AWESOME WORK BRO.
this was the first song i listened to by rush when i was 14 and mr pearts drumming and the whole arrangement started me on a long and happy road to fantastic music and wonderful memories.
this encapsulates all the moods and times i lived as a kid listening to rush.
30 years later im still here and loving every moment thanks to the wonderful work of rush....and the adoration of PAULIEWANNA.
Great playing! one of my fav RUSH songs.

Must be a bit psychic too since he's playing against a recording that starts "randomly" without some form of timed lead-in. Solid all the same.
