  • THANKS you make it a lot easier for those of us JUST starting out.. This is my 3rd intro i'm trying to learn.only been 3 mo's. I try to practice but only find an hour or a week, if time allows,, are you running your axe through destortion box?& what setting on amp i'm clueless on that stuff, @ the moment,, I just turn up or down the gain & vol. so any info would helpfull ,, AND!! Best wishes to you and yours This Holiday .. THANK YOU ... ps sorry bout the spelling .

  • @banzaimotorcross Well, hang in there, I understand about practice time, but every little bit helps if you work constructively on something. I play through a computer with Guitar Port, it's a $60-90 dollar USB plug & comes with software. Highly recommended-it has "settings" for different styles and artists. To get a rock sound turn up distortion or pre-amp (sort or the same thing) and that will give you distortion. The rest of the settings are based on your ear-I go half way and play with them.

  • great job,,,cool simply to the point vibe! enjoyed that

  • I am a total guitar rookie....can you explain what a "double stop" is?

FYI....I've been looking for a how to video on this song for quite some time...THANKS!!!

  • @5d6195 A "double stop" is playing two strings together. Ususally it's used to make a "reference" to a chord without really playing a full chord. Glad to hear this helps ~ Joe

  • can you do my wave by soundgarden, ps great lesson

  • whats a double step

  • @videogames4ever322 It's playing a chord with only two notes....~ Joe

  • @gtrjoeles Thank you so much ~ Joe

  • @gtrjoeles Just to let you know I got this one down and it's a blast to play!! Rock Candy how ever is going to take a bit more work :)

  • @strandednIowa EXCELLENT!! Really glad to hear that - Rock Candy is such a cool song (it's one that makes the hairs on my arms stand up when cranked) -I bet you have it in no time too~ All my best ~ Joe

  • Great Job

  • Nice job Joe!

  • @TheSharkman2k Much appeciated - Glad you like ~ Joe

  • Holy Cow!! that was fast !! Thank You Joe... for this and the Rock Candy vid :) Your generosity with your musical talent is greatly appreciated !

  • @strandednIowa I'm glad you like, they are older video's I did for vanderbilly, and I was just figuring out how best to present lessons.....I appreciate the comments ~ Joe

  • @gtrjoeles I think I remember vanderbilly.....2 years ago or so when I first started to play Lol I probably looked at this song then and went.. No feakin way!! but that happened to alot of songs I wanted to play when I first started :) Anyway thanks for digging these out, what else have you got stashed in your Three Lock Box?? :P

  • I think it helps not showing the 'right hand' in most cases...It helped me before to learn on my own,I think it makes your ability to figure it out stronger...And thats 'my goal' to be able to figure songs out on my own...Great job Joe as usual!!

  • Excellent

  • Hey, although I know what you are doing, it might be an idea to let people see what you are doing with your picking hand, good tutorial though
