I think the writers try too hard to push Gwen/Arthur. I wish they would just let them talk, allow them more cute banter and Gwen doing that epic thing where she gives Arthur a good smack in the face when he's being ridiculous. I just fell like their too polite and not really emotionally engaging in their scenes. Give them more cute juicy scenes like the horseback scene writers!!!!!

Has anyone else noticed the apples? In Lancelot, Lancelot is peeling an apple in Sweet Dreams Arthur is eating an apple then in this ep King 'slightly mad' Cendred is also eating an apple. When Merlin & Gwen are at her table she has a bowl full of apples. Gwen is the love of both L & A's life and may well unwittlingly destroy them both and for Cendred she was a means to an end to destroy Arthur. Is that an allusion to Eve or the apples just, er apples?
@deBadwolff I totally agree with you, it's about time for Arthur to be a man rather than a boy. He needs to show a more action! :-) By the way, I really liked the way they showed the interaction between Gwen and her brother in the cell. I thought it did well in terms of believability of the story line. Despite the total non existence of her brother in this show so far, somehow the writers and actors managed to convince us there's not much awkwardness... of his sudden appearance.
I think Gwen doesn't 'express' love as much because to her it is an impossible situation, and she would rather guard her heart than allow it to dream.

But does that mean you mildly like the show or what? Didn't episode 3X03-04-06 or season 2 make it for you? Just wondering. I know sometimes the storyline is lacking of a few things but I think that season 3 is well writting so far.

@deBadwolff I totally agree with you, it's about time for Arthur to be a man rather than a boy. He needs to show a more action! :-) By the way, I really liked the way they showed the interaction between Gwen and her brother in the cell. I thought it did well in terms of believability of the story line. Despite the total non existence of her brother in this show so far, somehow the writers and actors managed to convince us there's not much awkwardness... of his sudden appearance.

Thank you Kheldara. I feel Gwen was telling Arthur she loves him too when she looked at him directly and said she wouldn't forgive herself if anything happened to him. Arthur understands Gwen.he knows she is not gushy or lovestruck & that's just why he loves her so..she's strong and proud. That look on his face when he found she didn't leave was aces..as if to say to her bro..see she loves us..that's why she speaks to us this way...we just have to deal with it because we love her too <3

But does that mean you mildly like the show or what? Didn't episode 3X03-04-06 or season 2 make it for you? Just wondering. I know sometimes the storyline is lacking of a few things but I think that season 3 is well writting so far.

I just cannot get over how kissable Arthur looked in the end scene. How the hell could she NOT kiss those lips after he said THAT to her??????? Why Gwen WHY??? Those beautiful eyes of his were looking at her longingly and that little smile, I can't ... the sexual tension is off the wall now!!!!

why couldn't we even have one kiss in this episode!!! i was waiting all week since the trailer last week for this episode and no kiss. you go gwen for leaning in first! (i loved the way he just looked at her mouth when she was) and then damn you morgana! i thought they would in the last scene, but no. ah well, they are still gorgeousness personified.

I really dont like Morgana anymore, she has turned really evil now, wanting to hurt her brother in this way.... Urgh pity Merlin didnt let her die in the last one, i liked her in the first season and part of the 2nd but i cant stand her now.... Love the Arthur and Gwen scenes! Really wanted the kiss to happen, its getting sooo frustrating now!! I like this episode this time when they're helping Gwen as there is no Lancelot involved to come between Arthur and Gwen :)

@helenadagreat wouldn't be the first time he told her. In the episode where Arthur is enchanted to love the Lady Vivian at the end Arthur tells Gwen. ' I never loved another' referring to her obviously

Well I'm not sure what 'dumbing down' meant; but I hate the fact that Merlin always has to rescue Arthur....I mean the show is called Merlin. I know it's all about him...but grief: can't Arthur do ANYTHING without him?

at least Uther is getting the same loyalty from his daughter, as he shows his subjects. Hoping that Gwen's female intuitions are kicking in and she puts the puzzle pieces together, on subject Morgana. Merlin romantic at heart, but sure makes the worst wingman. Love how Arwen is in tune with each other and the tid bits of their interaction show how close they become. Now only Gwen needs to admit to him she loves him too and we need a bloody KISS! A kiss at the very end, would have given me wings
