Well, this is called a 4-door coupe according to auto purists. It's not the most practical of vehicles. I'm not willing to spend $100k on this; if I had 100k on a Porsche, I'd take the more verstile Cayenne S Hybrid.
@chris2586 Don't think so... I live in Leipzig where we have a Porsche factory, so i see a lot of em. Well ok, maybe it looks "better", but still ugly in my view. But nevertheless: From a technical perspective, it's an amazing piece of technology - impressive.
personaly i think it looks okay its not ugly or out there and yet it can g 0-60 in 3.5-3.7 ish sec. n i love the inside. but id take a mercedes benz sclass of it for daily driveing
Look at all the people going on about it's looks. Personally I drive a car for what it does and how it does it. So many people today are obsessed with what other people think as they go past. Why drive a terrible car to look cool? Why stay away from a great car just because it doesn't please others? This is why crap cars still sell - because morons think they look better in it.
I love the idea of a porsche sedan, the interior of the car and the fact that it has porsche performance but man does it have to look sooo ugly. The front looks great but once u go back it looks like this fat blob for the back.
What's the point of buying this ugly car when you can get the Cayenne Turbo S for about the same. It's pretty much the same car isn't it? 4WD, 4 doors. The Panamera is just a shrunken down version of the Cayenne. I'd rather have the Cayenne.
@palebeachbum I would much rather drive my cayenne turbo every day rather than my 911 turbo (997) and/or GT3 (996). Sure, the turbo is a daily, but try driving it every day for a month straight. It's not too forgiving on the back. Cayenne's are for people that already have porsche's and want to keep the "specialness" to their 911s =)
And the point of this car is? What, just to prove they can make a 4 seater 4 dr go almost as fast as a 911.... But only w 1 person is inside. hahaha. Might as well buy a $50k comfy sedan & a Cayman S for the same money. This 4200lb (front motor) sedan will never handle as well as a mid-engine, light-weight Cayman. The price makes it pointless. And how does it ride as a sedan?, Dave was kind of mum on that. I'm sure rear seat pasengers will appreciate hitting heads on ceiling over expan jts.
As Mr. Davis says, "naysayers can sit down because Porsche has done it!" I am simply amazed that Porsche were able to get 911-type performance out of a car this big. I LOVE the styling inside and out...and the fast back is the best part. This thing is a real no-compromise Porsche...with 5 doors! Love it!
No offense, though I'd rather have something that has two doors with an 8 driving the rear wheels that seats four people 'somewhat' comfortably rather than a four door that seats four 'fully' comfortably.
Save your comments on how it looks till you've seen one in person. Much better looking in person. Fit and finish is better then Mercedes or BMW by far.
It's a shame they mess up the back of the car thinking is traditional style of Porsche... Looks good in the coupe but not in the sedan version!! Everything else is perfect!!
not bad for their 1st sedan, ugly wheels though. Expensive as well consider it does 0-60 in 5seconds.. you could get a MAZDASPEED 3 cheaper, and do it up a little bit to make it go faster, just an Idea to save like $60,000 lol

I like this car but I miss the Porsche 928 GT of the 1980s.

Well, it was either the "ugly" rear end, or tight head room, which would have defeated the purpose of its existence.

I bet John Davis got one because he said his Dream GT was a Porsche 928, my Dream GT of the 1980s. I Love The MotorWeek show.

It just looks like a GIANT, SUPER SIZED, PORSHE . The only thing that stands in the panamera turbo's way is the cts-v .

Porche has gone to the dogs. First a Porche SUV (gag me), and now a 4-door, FWD Porche. I just got sick on myself.

I've heard that Porsche intends to make a convertible version of this car. Does anybody know if that's for real?

Luv it...all it needs is some tint and to be lowered a bit and some nice wheels.

I don't know.
I am torn about this car.
I love the performance and the concept.
I love the interior.
I love that it is a Porsche.
But I just don't love the exterior.
If this looked more like a GranTurismo on the outside this would be just outstanding.
venom5809 2 years ago 10
The reason it is that shape was because the Chairman had to be able the fit in the back seat comfortably.
amer1cancer2753 2 years ago
@venom5809 if you drive and be in one and compare to others like the s class you would learn to love the exterior. I did
