An excellent Let's Play, this. :) I'm near certain that the "fools" comment made by Yeesha in the viewer is the DRC. The DRC triggered the call to the cavern and then failed. I guess plotline wise Yeesha's been trusting on the Uru explorers to restore the cavern (and weirdly this means that a fictional character - Yeesha - is waiting on her creators - Cyan - to get the ball rolling again). Eh, for the time being I'm happy to watch this excellent LP and wait for MOULa to go OS. :D
I hope I'm not way off-base here, but I found Direbo to be one of the most pointless Ages in Myst history. It's nice to look at, and it fits into the context of the story, but within the context of the game, it just serves as a way to get rid of the distances between the rest areas in the Great Shaft. Not to mention that it has a large number of insurmountable waist-high (or knee-high) gates. ;) Which, if one was willing to get his feet wet, would negate the need for the Shaft altogether.
"Welcome to Noloben, enjoy yourself, now if you'll excuse me I'm off to hunt Moose and Squirrel." Seriously can this guy sound any more stereotypical villainy? If Cyan was trying to make us guess whether or not to trust Esher or Yeesha, the voice didn't help them.
The "fools" Yeesha was talking about were possibly all the people taking the Quest of the Tablet and failing. By the way, don't forget to tie this age in with a certain reference in Uru! It partially resolves an interesting plotline...
One reference to Noloben that happened during the online portion had to do with the dearth of Wheely Engberg... I do know that. It's an interesting reading what happened. The other as that note... I'm not sure if it was otherwise referenced.
I think it may have been in regard to the note to Douglas Sharper in which Noloben and a certain D'ni individual (most likely Esher) were mentioned. If indeed it was Esher being referenced, it's interesting to note how he's met other DRC members.
I also think the note refers to Esher since the DRC mentions encountering a D'ni in Noloben and since Esher was hiding in Noloben up to this point, well, I just put two and two together.
Appearantly, the Myst series came to terms with itself and its at times enfuriating difficulty since even the Grower has become quite frustrated with these puzzles.
I love the graphics and surrounding and details and the idea of being lonely in a very strange world..
Despite really wanting to like this game I downloaded and couldnt do anything almost....

I like how Esher doesn't leave any footprints.

I love to let Esher sit there and visit other places first, you can even go to his Labor and he will be there

I know Noloben was mentioned in a note in Uru, but I'm not sure what plotline you're talking about.

Somehow, these scenes of Yeesha lecturing from a viewer remind me of The Wizard of Oz.
It must be the distortion of her face in these videos.
