I bought this album new in 72 and i still have it in good shape. I remember the Great Allison Steele [ The nightbird} playing this album in full on WNEW FM in NY and I said I NEED THIS ALBUM!!.... Bought it the next day...Nitzinger rules.... Love it.
I recorded this off of wmms (cleveland radio) about 40 years ago. It was great then and still great today. Brings back lots of memories of when radio was great to listen to.
Wonderful posting. I would love to know where people get stuff like this. Like others have said before me I have been trying for years to replace a very worn out lp with a cd. Thank you again for this
I've been looking for this for YEARS!!! This was the song that REALLY got me hooked on the Blues! Long before Clapton or Stevie Ray! I loved BB & Albert, Little Milton, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and others.....but John's guitar reigns supreme! I would Love to have the Mar Y Sol Album on CD, but can't find it anywhere.....AND would settle for someone burning me a copy of the album or burning me a bunch of John's Best Blues numbers.
My brother taped this off the radio exactly a million years ago. Heard it twice back then and never since. Good lord, the memories this brings back. Thank you for posting!
That's great - I got this fantastic record too - but this song was destroyed at the point, when he sang "Don't call me no doctor ......them pills......them pills....them pills....them pills...- and so on ". So I'm glad to listen to the whole song again. Thanks for uploading. Greeting from slideede.
@GuanoApe420 Did you ever hear of the group Zephyr? Tommy Bolin was their lead guitarist. Candy Givens was the lead singer. What a voice! The guitar riffs are unbelievable. Check it out.
@stilhear I dig that stilhear, i though Wet Willie did this song and couldn't find it for years then i used google today and here it is in all it's rockin blues glory
@GuanoApe420 Wet Willie is yet another group that doesn't receive much air time these days. It's good to see that there are still a lot of Blues enthusiasts out there.
@dspreis If you're still offering an mp3 of this track, I'd love one! This is one of my favorite tunes from back in the day and I no longer have a playable album.
I have the 'Mar Y Sol' album on vinyl which i rarely play now so thanks ever so much R625REEL for uploading one of my favourite ever tunes. Love Nitzinger and Bugs Henderson!
One of the best albums ever made but I can't find a hard copy. I had it when I was a kid, Oh well!
